Hi there, having just purchased two boards (A7V400-MX) & (A7V8X-MX SE) both boards being almost identical, i had the same problem, so here is the information i worked out. The manual is not clear if you read the words, but if you look at the front panel audio header you will see that some of the pins have a blue shroud on the picture, if you do not have front panel audio connected the you must get some jumpers to put on the header in the same place as stated in the manual, i have attached a picture to show this. jumpers are indicated in blue. OH and 1 more thing turn your speakers down before you let it re-boots cos i nearly had heart failure when i did it becuase the volume was turned right up..
