  1. yes i have reinstalled. i had installed x64 a several months back and had since uninstalled it. this time when i installed it again, i totally forgot it had this clock problem. and yes it did have the clock problem the last time. what i am thinking is that there is an incompatability with the windows x64 and the bios on my laptop. there is no newer bios from the manufacturer at the moment
  2. yes i do have xp32-bit installed. the time is always correct on that sytem. it is only an x64 problem. the bios time is correct. i have now noticed that in xp x64 that after i get up in the morning, after the computer has been idle for the night, the time has now gotten off by many hours.
  3. ^ after i set the time and disable the w32time service, it still has the problem. what i'm thinking is that it is a compatability issue with the bios. also the time in the bios is correct, it is only when i go into windows xp x64 that the time becomes incorrect.
  4. ^I have read but not tried anything yet. I'm not sure exactly what it's telling me to do. All I know is I have to edit some registry files. Also it says it only pertains to Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition.
  5. man i just looked at the time and it's now gotten 50 minutes behind the actual time. This is only a couple hours after i last changed the time back to normal. Still looking for a solution. Please help.
  6. i'm actually posting here because somehow i couldn't start a new topic in the x64 section. i'm actually running windows xp x64 on my laptop which is a emachines m6805. the problem i'm having is that the system time is slowly losing time, as in the bottom right corner where the date and time is. I'd leave the computer and several hours later i'd come back and the time is off by say 5 minutes. For instance the time should read 7:00 but it reads 6:55 or something. I then go and syncronize the time with the online windows time but that's only a temporary fix; a few hours later it will be wrong again. Also, i have windows xp home dual booted on this machine and the time on that has never been wrong. does anyone know how i can fix this?
