  1. Hi, As it turns out the BTS DriverPacks are infinately useful, so, I was wondering if there is any way I can install the BTS driverpacks on their own on a system which is already up and running with XP Home? Thanks for and ideas, and thanks for the drivers.

  3. Well... I want an unattended DVD with RyanVM's updatepacks + some addon packs, the BTS DriverPacks, and some other software installed as well as setting some system settings and OEM branding eg. in "System Properties" and the IE title bar. And yes I'm an OEM. Is it going to be any use to me? Thanks.
  4. Hey all, I just wrangled myself a real copy of the latest Windows XP OEM Preinstallation Kit, and just wanted to know if I could do anything cool with it. From the looks, its bootable to WinPE, plus when you stick it in an up and running system you have the option to install "OPK Tools". So... is any of this stuff actually useful? Thanks.
  5. XPSP2.EXE is just the single exe you downloaded of the Full/Network install of Service Pack 2. Rename that file to XPSP2.EXE. The guide applies to both Home and Pro, and I dont know why nLite dosent work, maybe the download was corrupted, or maybe its something else screwed in your PC, either way it dosent really matter, it seems many people have had problems with nLite, me included. I strongly reccomend RVMIntegrator (http://ryanvm.msfn.org) and PowerPacker. Are you using unattended.msfn.org? I didn't think it used nLite. Good Luck
  6. ...Ok, it sounds like a good idea if your system is low on resources, but wouldn't it have to be run after the user logs in and everything is running? Otherwise its trying to close things that arent open yet, and then windows will open them when its finnished. Anyway, if you want, I can make you an exe that like your looking for if you give me the batch file and the pics you want for the buttons. I'm thinking that the "Performance" button does what the .bat does now, and the "Normal" button does nothing...?
  7. Thanks heaps for all your replies. oioldman: As I said I get the error in the filecopy straight after the format, the first one, with the blue background, not the GUI bit. Yes I have looked thru msfn, and it all looks ok. Plus, what is there in winnt.sif that could cause this? zeko: I was getting the same problem when I mounted the image in VirtualPC but that was with Nlite, I'll try again now I'm using PowerPacker. muiz: Ok, cool, do you mean bad RAM in the system that made the disc, or in the one thats actually running the setup? I'll try some new RAM, thanks. Lazy8: Ok, but I'm trying to make a multiboot DVD, using PowerPacker to create the ISO, but I seemed to have the same problem when I used NLite, only with Nlite nero wouldn't burn the 1.2Gb image to DVD as it was a CD image... apparently. Can I use CDIMAGEGUI to create the iso from a powerpacker output folder? Geist420: I've now burnt 2 DVDs and 4 CDs and all with the same problem... different files though. Plus the problem seems to be with the ISO, as it did the same thing in VirtualPC. But as I said that was using nLite, I'll try VirtualPC again now I'm using PowerPacker. Once again thanks for all the replies.
  8. When ever I make an anattended CD/DVD, in the section straight after the format there are always some files that it wont/cant copy. The setup stops and says "Setup Cannot copy file X" and gives you options to retry, ignore or quit. The files seem to be random. I made a set of unattended discs ages ago, the long way with no fancy auto-everything tools and they worked fine. But now however I do it I get the same problems. I've tried using nLite for the whole thing, using RVMIntegrator + BTS packs + PowerPacker, and then just using powerpacker on its own to make a stock standard user attended Home+Pro+Pro Corperate CD with no extras or automation or anything, and all files copied directly from original cds which I know work. But every time I get "Cannot Copy some stupid file". Thanks for any help.
  9. Yeah, thats what I was hoping. Run the integrator, then powerpacker. I'm assuming I dont need to create a tripack? I already have a powerpack output folder with home, pro, and corperate attended versions in it. And I dont need driverpackless versions. So can I just use powerpacker to add the unattrended versions with updates and driverpacks to that? Thanks heaps for the advice, and thanks for the great software. I've made a set of unattended disks before, the hard way, so I know how good these programs are.
  10. OK, thanks, maybe someone could tell me whats going wrong with my PREPACK.BAT? E:\updates\RVM_Integrator_1.0.5.exe /u %cd% "E:\updates\RVMUpdatePack2.0.1.cab" The "E:\updates" folder has: PREPACK.BAT RVM_Integrator_1.0.5.exe RVMUpdatePack2.0.1.cab in it, and I dont have any addon.cab's. Plus if it makes any difference, my source files are in E:\XP then \P, \H, and \C and the output going to \DVD. PowerPacker launches PREPACK.BAT, and that launches RVM_Integrator_1.0.5.exe (you can see it in task manager, there is no window, but then it just sits there and does nothing. Task manager shows the CPU usage as "00" for it. I've used the integrator before (the normal way) and it worked fine. Thanks heaps for any help.
  11. Hey all, I've been using this site for a while (viewing) but only just signed up to post as I've finnally found a question your site dosent already seem to have an answer to. All I want to know is whether I can run RVMIntegrator on some XP files on the HDD (copied & pasted the whole cd), THEN use PowerPacker on these files to integrate the BTSDriverPacks and make a multiboot dvd? I've tried the PREPACK.BAT method to integrate the updates but it didn't work, the DOS box just sat there, anyway, I dont need the integration to be unattended. I just need to end up with copies of xp (Home, Pro, & Pro corperate) with the RVM updates, the BTSDriverPacks, and my $OEM$ folder (single custom .exe launched thru GUIRunOnce). Thanks in advance for any help, and congrats on the site, it really is the one-stop-shop for all things windows unattended.
