  1. One of the guys in my office, every time he starts up Outlook 2003 for the first time has a msg pop up saying it needs to rebuild his mailbox. I have removed it from his pc entirely and readded it, nothing. I even uninstalled and reinstalled outlook, nothing. Is it possible the problem is actually on the server and not his pc? if so could some one point me in how to fix the problem? thanks! -D

  3. Hi, I was hoping you guys could help point me in the direction to find what I need for an upcoming conversion. We have a Win2k3 Server and due too some restrictions we had we were required to have 2 Firewalls blocking our server from our parent company in another country. Now we maybe having these restrictions lifted and might be able to setup some kind of domain trust between the two domains, BUT we have to have some form of security in place to keep certain files COMPLETELY blocked from them. My question is, Is this just a normal Domain Trust setup? Does it support that kind of feature? I unfortunitly dont have alot of experience in AD, so I'm looking for specific items to look up and study to do this when the time comes, any info/insist you could give I would be greatful. Thanks! -D
  4. Just wanted to Thank you again for that link.. I used the tools it listed and determined that he had some saved passwords pointing to network resources that were causing the lockouts, once I removed those from Control Panel > User Accounts > Advanced > Manage Passwords it worked fine, no more lockouts. Thanks! -D
  5. Thank you for the link I will check that out! -D
  6. I have a windows 2003 server domain, and one of the users on it has 2 laptops.. 1 is on the domain and 1 is not.. he mainly uses the one that is not on the domain and just accesses the resources directly (opens outlook or manually types in the server shares, etc) He would then get a prompt for his username and password and would just type in and be fine but lately hes been getting problems where his account is constantly getting locked out.. I would uncheck his lockout check box and tell him to try it and its locked out again before he can submit his username and pass.. then he would try again after I uncheck it again and he could be fine for the rest of the day.. its very sporadic problem. no pattern that I can see..Ive had him try changing his password cause supposidly the problem originated after he was out for a while and his password expired and someone changed his password with the admin account for him .. Is ther ea way I can monitor the failure attempts on his account to see why its getting locked out?? my event viewer for security is only showing successful attempts. Any help I would be forever greatful.. thanks.. -D
  7. I must be missing something, I am not seeing how that would affect domain browsing.. Its not a single pc issue.
  8. I have a Windows 2003 Standard Server running a domain, and I am unable to view the domain and see the computers. When I double click on the Domain Icon I get: --------------------------- Microsoft Windows Network --------------------------- DOMAIN-NAME is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Windows cannot find the network path. Verify that the network path is correct and the destination computer is not busy or turned off. If Windows still cannot find the network path, contact your network administrator. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to get this working. If theres anything I can tell to help track this down please let me know. Thanks! -D EDIT: Forgot to add that I can go to the server and the computers on the domain manually if I type them in. i.e. \\SERVER\
