thanks illl go ahead and try it, a couple things, it has to be the RAID becuase i can install both 32 and 64 bit xp on the drives, one master with os and one slave for storage... works fine.... its when i try raid i have a problem.... next a couple more important things... when i tried the IDE ATA drives, i got another stop error STOP(0x00000024) ?? but that was only for the IDE, for the SATA RAID i got that other code i posted earlier.. next this is probly a newbie question but after trying to set up a raid 0 with xp i used your advice and used seagate tools.. when it read the first drive it showed it formated at 320 GB and the second drive at 160 GB?? is that what raid does, becuase i thought both are formated at 160 GB and the raid controlls the stripping.... just curious (if this dosnt make any sense ask.. i just woke up ) thank you for helping i wish you a happy new year and maybe one day i can get it to work!!! p.s. i never realized how slow it was without raid until i tested it last night... wow xp too twice as long to install!!! Mike Olsen oh one more thing is IDE RAID 0 alot slower than SATA RAID 0? just curious -

wow i really hate shuttle, and there is now way to hack it? well i can install it i just cant get anywhere after the blue screen the floppy works perfect on raid JBOD xp x64 and installs on a raid 0 xp x64 but it dosnt go anywhere after that annoying blue screen well i guess ill try that, man im SOL thanks i wish we could figure it out, i think ill give it a couple more days before i just go back to JBOD or 32 bit raid 0 (if it works) Mike EDIT one more quick thing, when formating in windows set up do i quick NTFS or full NTFS, i tried doing the full NTFS but it take hours and hours, maybe this is one of my problem.... just looking at every factor Mike -

Mike well like i said before with the same configureation, same processor, motherboard ram, videocard everything is the same, i had JBOD raid working fine, with windows xp x64, now i wish i could tell you what drivers i used that time but i know i tried them before i even started posting on this site, so if there is a conflict it must only be visable in raid 0 thanks Mike -

yes i have the SN95G5v3 and i flashed it with the lastest off their website file sn95s3xa.bin, realesed 2005/12/16 but it still dosnt say 4.84, it says 4.81. after the update i tried the install with the 6.25 last night, nothing, so right now im going to try the 6.67, or should i try thr 6.66 and change the file? thanks! Mike EDIT SHould i still take the rest of the drivers out of 6.25 everytime(i have) but maybe one of them keeps causing the crash, just wondering.... Mike -

You might need it, if you want to install the native 64-bit SataRaid drivers (from the nForce package v. 6.66 and higher). By the way: You have taken the SataRaid drivers off the 64-bit package v. 6.66 unless I have recommended to take the package v. 6.67 (see post No 1 of this thread). If you have read all sites and posts of this thread, you should have realized, that I keep my guide layed down in post No 1 always up-to-date. I don't know. AFAIK there have been different types of nForce3 chipsets. Only nForce3 250 supports a 64-bit OS. well on your first post you said only if you have nforce 4, and for nforce 3 take the 6.25, should i use the 6.67? Mike -

another quick question, if my chipset is nForce3 250 Gb, does the 250 GB mean anything, is that the max it can read? just wondering thanks Mike -

I you want, you can try to create a new nLited CD with the 6.25 drivers first (see Nr. 3 within my post from 09:54) and try to install Windows XPx64 this way.I really cannot believe, that your problems are due to the fact, that you did not do a low level format. CU Fernando yea no luck, low level format did not help, then i tried filling both disks with zeros, (seagate tools sugestion) nothing, same endless reboot. i wish i knew what to do, well im gonna try ever combination of the drivers i find online, let me know if you have any ideas. Yes, and then create your Raid array onto your clean disks.Good luck! Fernando thanks, ill let you know Mike -

fairchild118 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
You said, that you reformatted both disks. Did you do it in "low level format"? This is very important, because otherwise you have rests of the old file structure on your Raid array. If you have not done it, I suggest to do the following: 1. Make a "low level format" of both hard disk (take the Seagate Tool). 2. Try a new install by using your nLited CD. If this fails: 3. Create a new bootable CD by nLite, but this time take the IDE\WinXP drivers from the 6.25 package (don't edit the TXTSETUP.OEM!). Good luck! Fernando ok ill have to try that, but to make myself clear what i did was, 1) enabled the sata drives (2 x 160 GB) for raid, 2) set up the raid for stripping 3) cleared disk data (in F10 raid) 4) booted my nlite cd, 5) and formatted the single 300 or so GB drive using NTFS (quick). So what you say i should do is reformat them individually before i set up the raid? Sorry im a little new this is only my second time using a raid system Mike -

fairchild118 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Do you use another pc now or do you have access to the files of the partition you installed XPx64? acctually i reformatted both disks so i could put them in a raid 0, so right now i have a corrupted windows xp on 2 identical raid 0 disks, that will not boot , just the endless reboot cycle right before it loads xp, the raid is healthy and safe mood will not work Mike -

fairchild118 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Is your Rad array OK (declared as "healthy" on the second boot screen)? Was your Raid detected as 1 hard disk drive during the first (TEXTMODE) part of the install? yes it says healthy, 1 hard disk equal to 2 x 160 GB (a little over 300GB), well i had JBOD raid setup and Windows XP x64 working but i decided i wanted to go with stripping raid 0 and thats when i started having all the problems, ohh and 1 stick of ram dosnt change anything, i tried a fresh install and everything still endless reboots Thanks a lot for helping Mike -

Which driver package did you take for the integration of the SataRaid drivers? nForce 6.66, http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_wi...4_amd_6.66.html i changed the txtsetup.oem file per your instructions and used package 6.25 for the other drivers , maybe im just mixing all of these up but i dont know its really annoying. thanks Mike
