  1. those are nice, especially the longhorn one however, I think I found what I was looking for http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/10429888/ the original (doesn't support 1.5 ) http://maniseb.free.fr/index.php?Skin almost the same (tabs look different, but it works with 1.5, and that's what counts! ) if you use the vista brico pack, and use firefox, then this theme is essential!
  2. I'm looking for the firefox theme in this screenshot: http://crystalxp.zerackiel.net/_resources/vista4b.jpg anyone know where I can find it? ..or maybe someone can tell me the name of it and I can find it?
  3. every time I reinstall, windows always gives me some annoying problem to fix.. but everything works now! thanks, zxian and mhz!
  4. recovery console...lol, forgot about that @ralin: it won't be replaced if I put a copy in the dllcache folder as well. thanks for the help!
  5. I'm not sure I understood that, but it worked when I navigated to the system32 folder. and if it works, don't knock it, right? still need to figure out why I can't run replacer, but thanks for the help with ipconfig! this forum rules..lol
  6. google's my mistress; that was the first page I came across when getting into this little project. however, 'copy' doesn't copy files that are in use.. :/ I got the reg tweak down pact, it's just that **** file.. I thought I could replace it in linux, but I've never had good luck with ntfs in nix. idea! you think bartpe could be of some help on this? if I'm not mistaken, it's more or less a live windows install... regards!
  7. fire up your command prompt and type in "ipconfig". you should get your ip n such, right? I think mine's a little...misinformed..: I get the same error when I try the help command, or try to open something from the prompt (replacer) anyone know why I'm getting this after just reinstalling? it's not even a modified install, either. the only thing different from the original cd is the answer file I added, and I doubt that's the cause.. any help is appreciated!
  8. I want to disable sfc without reinstalling windows. from what I've read, this can be done by replacing sfc_os.dll with a patched version and a reg edit. easy, right? (life is easy like that! ) unfortunately, no. I can't replace the file because it's already in use. guess it's doing its job pretty well... ¬.¬ I've tried safe mode, as that usually works for everything else...not happening.. and xp doesn't have a real command prompt so I'm sol on that option too so I try to use replacer to do it for me. however, my computer apparently can't open cmd files. I'll be asking about this soon, but in the mean time.... how can I replace this dll? edit: thread made for my borked prompt.. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=61787
