  1. I tried, they don't have them. I tried my broadcom 440x, and whenever I try to add them in new hardware wizard it says these drivers are not digital signed and I can't install them Anyone else getting this? Is this because they are made for win xp or what? Sorry about reporting this to the administrators. LOL! But that button looks like a reply. . .
  2. Does vista have promise fasttrak 376 drivers? Anyone got it to detect the hard drives? edit: fasttrak not fasttrack
  3. sweet, i changed my rdisk(0) to rdisk(1) for my sata drive and now both drives boot fine. Still how would I go about finding out what rdisk is which?
  4. I installed winxp on my sata raid controller (asus p4pe, fasttrack 376raid controller) hard disk. Then I proceed to install windows vista on a seperate pide hard drive and now i can't boot to winxp (there is no option). So i reinstalled winxp on the hard drive that vista was on. I figured that might fix it but it didn't. Now, I want to boot to my sata windows, how do I do that? I figure I need to update my boot.ini file but am not sure which options to change so here is it, I added the last line. [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0 [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows SATA what should i put here" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect OH yeah, windows xp on the pide is C:/ sata is D:/. I am a noob but I noticed D:/ has no boot.ini or other hidden files like ndetect. Is it supposed to be like this? edit: i used recovery console to rebuild my boot.ini and the pide winxp boots, but the sata winxp still does not. Gonna unplug my pide hdd and see what happens. It now looks like [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0 [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0="pide winxp" multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\Windows="sata winxp" multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows SATA" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons edit 2: i unplugged my ide drive and sata winxp booted fine. So,... back to hunting on google. I wonder if I make the sata drive c: will that make it better.
