okay, i start with a completely empty computer chipset: intel D915GLVG installing from: benq1620 (PATA) installing to: western digital wd1600js (SATA) to be safe my cd has the following BTS DriverPacks: Chipset 5.07.2 CPU 5.06 Graphics A 5.08 LAN 5.07.3 - MassStorage 5.07.3 Sound A 5.08 WLAN 5.07 So I create, and format a partition for windows (NFTS of course), and right after it is done it gives me this msg: "Setup cannot access the CD containing the Windows XP installation" What seems most likely, from all the things that i've been reading is either A. the driver pack is missing my drivers (wouldn't surprise me, i'm lucky like that) B. the dvd drive doesn't like my cdrs/burners/etc (I've heard that some of these drives are very picky.) What I need help with is...... What driver would I need? Is the sata controller determined by the hard drive? the mobo? something else? I've got no floppy disk, but my other comp has nLite so I can probably work out how to slipstream the driver once I find it. And if the problem is with the dvd drive, how am I supposed to fix that?! WhaddayI do? This has been causing me all sorts of frustrations any insight is greatly apprieciated Life101 /you can tell this has been working me ragged for a while cause i managed to type intended instead of attended, wow I'm a smart one.
