  1. Well to answer my own question, i figgured it out. I had been looking for an option to take back permissions on all these folder, I had just been going about it the wrong way. only a few hours wasted I guess :s anyway for future information for anyone else to take back permissions as admin I went to the parent folder then... security tab -> advanced button -> owner tab -> replace owner on subcontainers and objects checkbox and then applied it.   2. Due to some freak accident, im not sure how, it was related to sharing a folder across the network, all usergroups were removed from a few folders. I have tried to add back the correct usergroups but I'm denied access to change permissions, even though I am logged in as Administrator. how security tab looks now: error when trying to add usergroup: does anyone have any advice for me on what im doing wrong?
