Dietmar made a so great work of making the installation XPSP2 in USB- HD the first time in the world . Due to his sensational work and genial idea, I am so daring to make some little personal modifications to run a full autobooted XPSP2 with a lot of softwares very normally within USB- HD or USB-FD .
That application of mine relying on Dietmar’s work fully, have some importances because we could not use XPE-USB or PE-USB anymore.
There is a big difference between them( PE-USB and XPSP2-USB ) in the following convenient points:
1)In XPE-USB or PE-USB, we had to waste a lot of time to make all plug-ins to install them and some softs not fully working like Office 2003, Nero 70 if they don’t have each efficient plug-in in XPE ..
2)In the contrary, with the XPSP2-USB, we could install any software as we want normally like Office 2003 without any difficulty( the right way in our hard disk ) . Another convenient problem more : from now, we could get rid off making any plug-ins for them .
We could type any DOC file, relax to see DVD, have printing jobs easier than ever within XPSP2 USB. Good bye for making all audio, modem, printers plug-in.
3)The booted time to a full appearance of XP desktop is also very different between them: 5 minutes only for XPSP2-USB contrary to 10 minutes of XPE-USB or PE-USB.
4) Finally if we made success of an autobooted XPSP2 fully running in USB hard disk, XPE-USB or PE-USB become out of dated very soon .
They are still useful only in one point : try working in CD; or in our hard disk next to C .
Following is my personal ways relying on the full Dietmar’s tutorial 3 with a bit of modifications of mine:
1)Download all tools( XPUSB.zip and REG.zip ) from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OZCVCKR4

2)Firstly, from DOS or another windows( 2000) in D partition, try to make a ghost( ghost 32.exe or ghost.exe of 8.2 ) to save the actual C partition to E one’s with a name : XPSP2.gho
3)You could also use Partition magic 805 in CD( from any rescue CD ) or from another windows in D ( 2000 ) to delete this C partition; create a new name XPSP2 again ; format it in FAT 32 or NTFS.
4)Reboot and begin to install a new fresh XPSP2 in your blank C partition. Next, install all necessary driver hardwares and a lot of softwares you want, like Office 2003, WinRAR, InterDVD70, Ulead DVD player 15, Smartcapture 351,.. Opera 805, Winamp 52, Flash get 171 , Cute FTP pro 71 .. Remember to install all these softs in the same C partition only.
5)Disable Pagefile sys file in Performance and reboot to save this configuration.
6)Make a ghost save for C partition with a new name XP0.gho to E partition
7)Make a ghost restore XPSP2.gho form E partition to C one’s . Reboot again.
8)Within XPSP2 , plug your USB hard drive and make a ghost restore XP0.gho to USB hard drive by ghost32.exe. Reboot again.
9)Also in XPSP2 , you begin to make a change to USB hard disk to make it autobootable by copying ntdetect.com; boot.ini to the root folder of USB and all USBSP1 drivers to sytem32\driver ( from XPUSB.zip downloaded ).
Don’t copy ntoskrnl.exe to windows of USB yet ( you reserved it in case of your USB not booted successfully by this way ).
10) Create a temp folder : RETTUNG within system32\config of USB-HD. Copy the file system of config to the RETTUNG folder.
11)Type Regedit on Run ; choose HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and load hive from files. Go to System in RETTUNG folder and create a name subfolder OTTO below the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE .
12)Edit by notepad otto.reg two last lines about USB hard drive identification( Use Check_U_disk.exe to have all ID information of your USB HD ):
- First last line : VID&PID
- Second last line: VendorID, name, productID, productRevision of USBHD
13)Double click on Otto.reg and Otto1.reg to incorporate them to registry of OTTO.
14)Export OTTO as Reg Hive file to RETTUNG as a name OTTO.
15)Close XP registry and reopen it to unload OTTO from XP registry.
16)Delete System and system.log from RETTUNG.
17) Rename OTTO to system. Copy the file system and paste right here and rename Copy of the system to the system.sav.
18)Copy 2 files system and system.sav from RETTUNG to config ( USB- HDD) . Delete the file system.log if it has in config folder. Also delete the RETTUNG folder now.
19)Go to the INF folder of windows ( USB-HDD ), delete 3 files of usb.pnf, usbport.pnf, usbstor. pnf.
20) Open 2 files usb.inf, usbport.inf: Replace Base in LoadOrderGroup to System Bus Extender ONLY for "usbhub", "usbehci", "usbohci", "usbuhci".
Add one more line below StartType = 0 ONLY for "usbhub", "usbehci", "usbohci", "usbuhci", "usbstor"
21)Especially for the file usbstor.inf, open it by notepad and replace the PnP Filter of the LoadOrderGroup = to System Bus Extender
22)Close your PC and reboot . Press on delete to go to CMOS; to change first boot device to “ USB-HDD” , save and exit. Reboot one time more.
23) That time, your PC becomes autobooted by USB-HDD. Don’t be in despair quickly if you see a black screen only : you must wait at least for 3 minutes to have the first appearance of the progress bar and 2 minutes more to see the first XP logo and the final XP desktop.
Wow, you already made a big success autobooted running a full XPSP2 within an USB hard disk the first time.. Make a ghost save of USB hard drive to a new name USB.gho and reuse it in case of USB-HD not autobooted anymore or your seeing BSOD subitely.
24)If you would like you make an autobooted running XPSP2 within any Flash drive( size of 2GB at least ) , you must know to use EWF ( enhanced write filter ) to protect to have the longest life span of your Flash drive. If not, your Flash drive could be died anytime.
25)You could disable pagefile sys in XPSP2 only if your PC had enough RAM ( 526MB ) .
In conclusion, if you make out of running autobooted XPSP2 within USB-hard disk, perhaps, you don’t like to use or make a PE-USB or XPE-USB anymore because of a lot of inconvenience compared to XPSP2 in USB-HD( Dietmar’s ways ).
You see my pic showing the first time my autobooted USB-HDD partition appeared in C ( XPUSB ) and my normal XP is displaced to D partition ( XPSP2 ), my Windows 2000 in D also displaced to E . Those XP-USB corner desktop of mine is full of a lot of softwares those I want to run.

</NU2MENU>3) Conclusion and remarks: Regerttably, I couldn’t use Cool400’s registry because of a lot of lines of german language . Those are not fully adapted for all of us ( use english language ) .
I notice one interessant thing more: Using AEC ‘s Start Network and Dialup Services is fully enough to make appear a phone book to connect your modem.
A connected icon appears on XPE system tray and you could disconnect modem easily. Afterwads.
You are no need of two services Start Dialup Services Connect (using rasphone) of AEC ‘s plugin any more.

During the past 3 months, I had a lot of difficulties to connect my modem in XPE104 & PE 314. It always stopped at verifying user name and password for ever if I use AEC dial up plugin for my modem.
I try to change to Cool400’s internet plugin but there is no better result: error 720 after verifying user name and password.
Finally, I found my best way by combining each best part of two plugin and that give you 100o/o. success in connect by any modem .
Surely, you must have your specified modem plugin firstly together with this newest internet plugin in your XPE 104.

You all see all printer plugins ( Joshua and mine ) are not working well in XPE 104 &PE 314.
I always think the best way for you ( any new bie ), is to install Colin Finck ‘s dotnetfxpe-prefinal5 plugin together my printer one’s in your XPE .
So that, open all properties or preference of any printers in XPE is an easier problem than ever.
You could download Colin Finck ‘s dotnetfxpe-prefinal5 at his website Dotnetfxpe
and using my printer plugin by my ways:
I would like to remind you of some principal stades to making out any printer working so well in your XPE:
1)Copy all printer driver files from this folder of XP ( C:\windows\system32\spool\ drivers\w32x86\3\*.* to the Files folder of you printer plugin. In case of a color printer , copy C:\windows\system 32\spool\color\*.* also to Files( printers plugin )
2)Patch the BUD file in Files folder of your printer plugin with HEXedit 20 by going to search and replace: search for HEX 43003A( C ), replace with 5A003A( Z). So that, you convert this BUD file from C location to Z ramdisk.
3)You could be download this file printer.inf with registry in zip file at :
Printers.zip
4)This new printers.cmd of mine has a very simpler CODE:

And how do you make the Spool_SFX.exe?
In that folder drivers( C:\windows\system32\Spool\drivers\),
you right click on 2 subfolders color and w32x86 and choose to:
- add to archive ( surely you must install WinRAR342 firstly in your hard disk)
- Archive name: Spool_SFX.exe ; marking on create SFX archive, create solid archive;
-Advanced options: click on SFX options ;
- Advanced SFX options: Path to extract( Z:\windows\system32\Spools\drivers\ );
- Mode : Hide all and overwrite all files;
- finally, OK;
It makes Spool_SFX.exe at once for you in some secondes . Put this file in printers plugin
4)You also have the autoprinters with user-home’s help with this CODE to start , stop spooling services and it makes your printer to appear in Controlpanel\ Printers and Faxes successfully

You must see all your printer name appear certainly in Control panel\ Printers and Faxes and there is no difficulty when you open properties and printer preferences of any printer now with the use Colin Finck ‘s dotnetfxpe-prefinal5 plugin in XPE.

If you use AEC plugin and your modem one’s , you connect to web easily with XPESP1 but the problem becomes more difficult with XPESP2 104 and PE 314.
In csae of trying to connecting to web, you only stop at verifying user name and password forever.
If you don’t believe my word, try to create a newest pebuilder314.iso and you will see the tetchy result for your modem.
Perhaps, that is due to uppercase problem or an unknown reason. It wastes one month for me to find that cause in erasing over 100 times in DVDRW disk.
I tested my modem with two plugins in dialup : one old best known AEC and another newest Cool400’one .
The two plugins are so different in files installed and not the exact registry between them. Cool400’s using bartpe.exe to start net services in the contrary of AEC's netcfg.exe.
I tried in different ways to merge two plugins together to have the best result in connect to web with my modem in XPESP2 CD.
At noon today, I get rid off the tetchy problem of AEC pluign ( stop at verifying user name and password for ever) Colol400’s one’s( error 720: could not etablish connect modem ) by merging the best parts of them in one newest internet plugin: best result 100o/o success in XPESP2 CD .
1) I use the full AEC dialup registry only; a files folder( contain all cmd files and netcfg.exe ) and a file rrasmgmt.msc( 2003 )
2)I use all needed files of internet plugin of Cool 400 but no registry and even his file internet.cmd .
3)Change the internet.inf of Cool400 fully adapted to some of newer files of AEC’s plugin.
4)After merging two plugins by my way, I am succesfull to have the best dial up plugin than ever for XPE 104& PE 314 .
5) Now , you could connect to web( XPE 104 & PE314 ) easily with any modem in XPECD
PS: This new registry is very long to post here ( 3 pages or more ) .

I didn't test SysXPfat or bootpart in C( NTFS) to create a MS-DOS for my XP.
If your C partition has formatted only in NTFS, I think you better reserved a small place in C formatted in FAT 16 reserved of rescue by XPE or DOS. That didn't cause any crash for your PC .
In the contrary, my C partition is already formatted in FAT 32( 9GB ) and worked well with SysXPfat.
But in case of failure with SysXPfat, you could also try that command line fixboot C: ( in Recovery Console, or choose to repair in XPCD install ) . You also reboot to XP easily with dual menu boot.

Recovery console is used to add MS-DOS menu to XPE but no real need if you would only like booting to XPE ( hard disk ).
Could you ever boot PE.iso from RAM with a size 700MB or over that size: to 1GB ? only install PE to hard disk help you do that?
Virtual CD helps you see a booting time( captured ) only but you never test your Sound card, modem or hard disk easily like in hard disk.

I) Make a SuperVCD disk in XP to be seen in any DVD player :
If you don’t buy a DVDRW yet, the best solution for you is to record videoclips in SuperVCD disk. That has the same quality of DVD ( with resolution 720x480 ) but the real benefit is too cheap for make( only 20 cents per disk in VN ) .
Following are the principal steps by steps to make your superbe SVCD in XP:
1)You must have an internal TV card in your PC with a cheap price 50USD to capture any selected video clip form DVD disk you want to mpeg2 with the real time ( no waiting time ).
2)You also have Power VCR 30 in your XP : the best capture soft in mpeg2: capable of seeing the big screen during the capture time.
3)You better have the Video card Nvidia 64MB RAM and Creative Audigy sound card at minimum in your PC . RAM of your PC is also at least 526MB .
Plugin 2 lines audio out of your DVDplayer to o one stereo jack 3mm ( audio in of your sound card ).Plugin 1 video out line of your DVD player to video in line of your Nvidia Display card.
4)Select any best video clip from any media DVD excluding all MC ‘s long presented portions you want during the recording time within PowerVCR 30.
5)Remember always to choose DVD profile in setting recording in PowerVCR 30
6)All video clips recording are in mpeg2 ( best quality of DVD ): you never see any difference between them.
7)If you want to get the number video clip in maximum in a SuperVCD ( till 10 videoclips for one disk ), you better burn all of those mpeg2 files with Roxio video pack 51: it ‘s only a recording soft capable recording 1.3GB ( hard disk ) putting in one CD ( 700MB ) . That seems too unbelievable for you : Although in a compressed form but the qualities of all video clips are not changed so much ( nothing the same with mpg4: the worst quality to be seen )
8)Final result: You will have an impeccable Super VCD seen in any DVDplayer ( no difference between SVCD and DVD in quality ). The real benefit is to have all selected video clips from any media DVD to save in SVCD with a very cheap price 20 cents
II)In XPE, you will see all remarkable beautiful mpeg files: just made in hard disk or in SVCD disk in a DVD-ROM of our PC:
I recommend you to make a plugin of Ulead DVDplayer 1.5 to see mpeg or hear any mp3, CD, SVCD, DVD.

If you are always bothered of buying CDRW to test burning a new XPE.iso, the best ways for you I think is to install XPE in your hard disk. That would have a lot of conveniences for you ulteriorily if you already installed 2 windows in your hard disk ( C: XP and D : 2000 with FAT 32 for two of them).
I)Install XPE in another primary partition than C: is always better than in the same partition by enjoying a lot of of benefits following:
1) Stay in one windows, you could ghost or restore the other one’s( even with Norton Ghost 90 ) too easily, you are no need of rebooting to work in WinPE environtment.
2) Go to Windows 2000 in the D partition , you could see J partition ( hidden of XPE ) and you could update all changes of a new XPE.iso( from F: to the old in J: ) easily and speedily, And you are no need of buying any CDRW to test XPE.iso.
3) Working within J partition ( or X: if it is are active partition unhidden ), you could edit nu2menu.xml or any programs easily because of a written hard disk not read only like CD .
4) The booting time in hard disk is so much speedier than ever: 1 minute 30 secondes ( compared with 4 minutes 30 secondes in CD or 10 minutes in USB flash Drive ).
5) You could read my ways to install XPE in another primary partition than C and create MS-DOS in my former topic:

Don’t try to test peinstall plugin of Bart’s if your aren't an expert. You have the big risk to erase all upur precious data in C partition if you mistyped some lines.
6) You could get rid off 2 plugins in XPE: dospe ( waste of time to find a lot of files but it seems useless because of not a real DOS ) and peinstall ( too risky ) .
II) Why not installing XPE in the same partition C: Big reasons are the following:
1) You will have a bigger partition C with 2 installing( XPE and XP ) and when your are need of saving C partition with ghost , it becomes so big ( usually over 1.5GB in size )
2)While working with XPE, although it also boots speedily ( 1 minute 30 secondes) but the real tetchy problem is C partition reserved for XP is incorporated together with XPE in their common X: partition ( by character of XPSP2 ).
3) Sometimes in update the new programs for XPE, you would get mixed between Programs ( XPE ) and Program Files (XP) and Documents and settings .
III) Why not installing XPE in USB Flash Disk: The main reasons are the following:
1)The booting time to USB Flash Drive is so long over 10 minutes ( compared with 1 minute 30 secondes in hard disk .
2) You are always a real need of a bigger Flash Disk: over 526MB or 1GB. If not, you could install a miniPE or microPE in USB flash Drive.
3) The copy time of all files to USB flash Drive is also long with Fafot’s way( 100 o/o success ): 10 minutes .
4)If you use pe2-usb.cmd , you will get the usual bug is not finding ntldlr or boot.ini during the processof making pe-usb. That is not easy to override this problem.
IV) Reduce the making all autoboot XPE CD or DVD by this way :
1) If you already install XPE to another partition than C, you could reduce making XPE CD in minimum. So that , it is not wasting a lot of money to buy any CDRW disk in the future.
2) The booting time to XPE in CD is longer than in hard disk ( usually 4 minutes 30 secondes or more ) compared with 1 minute 30 secodes in hard disk ).
3)Testing the boot time is much easier, speedier in hard disk than CD ( no required of testing with Vnware or Virtual CD anymore )
V) Conclusion:
After reading my topic I hop you would choose the best solution for you in installing XPE. Could you disagree with me, but how you are not wasting a lot of money to buy CDRW anymore? : That is the principal or really convenient way for all of us..

You could test my topic by burning a new ISO with BCDW 201
It supports all ISO files like 200SP4, Hiren70.iso, Acronis.iso, Acronis DS.ISOso well ( except for XPSP2.iso ).
Sorry, I don't like installing Linux because of a lot of complex command lines and I never test it one time in my life.
I am no need of Linux because my XPE is always superior than Linux anyways.

Now I know the reason why bootpart didn't create bootsect.dos in my XP ( triple boot to XP, 2000 and MS-DOS) .
My C partition is formatted in FAT 32( 9GB ) but not FAT 16.
In the contrary, debug.exe is working so good to create bootsect.dos in FAT 32 and FAT 16.

Do you make out of creating MS-DOS for your XPE in another primary partition than C?
If so, you could update all new softs in your XPE much easierly in the future and no need of any CDRW disk to burn or test anymore..

Could you try your trick to make a DOS for XPE one time?
3)I don't completely agree with you on" MOST of people( in your country perhaps and what statistic? ) will have C: formatted as NTFS, expecially with XP.
We still like using MS-DOS to rescue any crash problem of PC by its speedier boot.
I think XP installed in FAT 32 , not mostly in NTFS( that depend your security degree ) .
4)I don't think you are right to say that line:
Create the real DOS for your XP :"will only work if the c: drive is ALREADY formatted as FAT.
My XP is formatted in FAT 32( size 9GB) having triple menu boot( XP & 2000 and MS-DOS in C partition.
In a FAT 32 primary partition( C:), we still create a real DOS for XP succesfully to rescue anytime.
5)In XPE, due to create a new small partition<2GB only, we choose FAT16 for that XPE primary partition.

Alex Kopylov is a russian so genial with BCDW 201, help us to make any dvd multiboot, capable of booting a multi ISO within a sole ISO ( burning to dvd ).
You could download bcdw-2.0a1.zip 237KB from this a website http://www.wolfgang-brinkmann.de/bcdw/bcdw_e.htm . But after extracting this zip file, you use only an important folder bcdw( excluding bcdw2dos folder ) with 3 files only bcdw.bin, bcdw.ini and loader.bin.
You could edit bcdw.ini by notepad to have a menu multiboot that you want and boot this common ISO by bcdw.bin.
1)Firstly, create a common folder with the name BCDW20
2)Put a BCDW subfolder with 3 files already said in BCDW20
3)Create an ISO folder to put any ISO file ( 2000SP4.ISO, Hiren70.ISO, Acronis.ISO ).
4)Create IMAGE folder to put IMA file ( you could put here HDDREG.IMA)
5)If you want to make a multiboot menu having XPE with installing Windows XP or Wiondows 2000:
- Extract all folders of Bart PE\I386\ to WNPE a new folder within BCDW20 .
- Extract all folders and files of XPSP2 CD to the same root. BCDW20 doesn’t accept any iso of XPSP2 installed, you will surely get error not finding ntdlr file if you add XPSP2.ISO like the way of 2000SP4.ISO
- Using UltraiSO to make an 2000SP4.iso from 2000SP4 CD and put in that common ISO folder
6) Edit the bcdw.ini file like the following:

With the file bcdw.ini that I have changed you could boot from an autoboot dvd with a menu appeared very easy to select to :
a)to C: boot normally to hard disk
b)Boot to XPESP2 boot to XPESP2
c)Install or repair to XPSP2 CD install a fresh Windows XP SP2
d)Boot to HDD regenerator 151 repair bad sector of your hard disk
e)Acronis .iso rescue by True image 80,
f)Install or repair Window 2000 SP4 install a fresh Windows 2000SP4
g)Boot to Hiren CD 70 Hiren 70 ( Rescue utilities on DOS)
7)Open UltraISO 762 , drag all folders within BCDW20 to the superior windows and go to load boot file ( choose that boot file bcdw.bin within the BCDW folder ) and finally save as WinDVD ( per example )
8) Burn this ISO with WinonDVD 603 . Remember that you could save or burn any ISO file > 4GB in your partition being NTFS only but never FAT 32
9)If your <a href='http://www.consumeralertsystem.com/cas/zx-hclick.php?hid=2' target='_blank'>dvd</a> disk still have place( 4.7GB ), you could make a folder GHO_PQI and add more image file of gho( 8.0) or pqdi ( drive image 2002 ) of any partitions of your hard disk saved.
These files saved in dvd will be used again to restore to hard disk in case of crash of your computer.
I hope all PE fans enjoy well in making aN unbelieable autoboot dvd disk now. That is made much simplierly than MSFN multibootDVD, I think so.

If you made an automatic booing to XPE successfully, you get some unbelievable benefits: pay no attention during the full booting time because you are no need to press any key: all commands are only in the automate process.
1)If you have only a multiboot CD with XPE and True Image 80.iso and others by using BCDW 201, you must edit bcdw.ini to put booting to XPE in the first place, after 3 secondes

2)Ramdisk plugin( Qsoft) is always very indispensable for your XPE: never be missed anyways if you want to have a normal boot to XPE.
Remember not to make any ramsize plugin in your XPE , that requires for you to press and choose one key to resize your ramdisk. You better choose a fixed value 64 MB at initially in ramdisk.inf ( if your PC are weak on RAM: 256MB ) or 128MB if you have 526MB RAM .
Are you bothered by nagged screen of your Ramdisk? Buy a retail copy of Qsoft Ramdisk with a very cheap price ( 6USD.)
3)Don’t make any plugin of your monitor driver: that also requires for you to select to install
4)If you don’t want your desktop changing resolution suddenly( ugly to see ) during booting time , you better add that line to set your desktop resolution always 1024x768 in xpe-defaults.inf

5)If you have a Creative audigy, try to use its oemx.inf found in XP but put no registry from Creative in its plugin. If not, you have a warning error during the booting time, press OK to override it.
6)Make appear all your favorites and Opera profile at XPE startup
Firstly, you have to make two SFX.exe for Favorites and Opera with two names( Favorites_SFX.exe and OperaP_SFX.exe ).
a) Click on Favorites folder with all contents and choose by right click mouse to Add to archive to make an SFX.exe. Remember to choose extract to Z:\Documents And Settings\Default User\ for Favorites_SFX.exe
b)How do you get the Opera profile ? Run Opera within XPE , that will open this Opera folder in Default User\Opera with 2 subfolders: Mail and profile.
You begin to edit all bookmark items of Opera ( add some preferred bookmarks and delete all unwanted one’s ) and edit also the contact item in mail( Opera ).
Those edited by you are backup certainly in a Opera profile within Ramdisk . You copy that folder Opera edited already to any temp folder hard disk.Use this folder ( Opera ) to make an OperaP_SFX.exe file for all of the next uses of Opera in XPE. Click on Opera folder to make Opera_SFX.exe file with extraction to Z:\Documents and Settings\Default User\ Application data\ Opera \ and Mode : hide all.
Secondly, open your custom.inf by notepad and adding a file custom.cmd=2 with that code:

Final remark: If you export registry of Flash get 171from XP and incorporate this registry to INF by using Pereg.exe, You always change from 0x3 to 0x1 for some lines in its registry not getting any error inbuilding pebuilder314.iso.

You got that error( Cannot find Autocheck and reboot ) because you don't unhide that XPE just created .
To unhide this primary partition, you have to use pqbw.exe( from PM 8 ) to choose XPE and start now. Reboot and you could boot to XPE now after unhiding it.

You are right, that is an old DOS dual boot but too preciously if you want to rescue your XP in crash some days in a much speedier way.
But if you already install XP in NTFS, you must reserve a small other primary place formatted in FAT 16 to rescue your PC by using XPE or DOS.

1)Firstly, I try to make bootsect.dos with bootpart but I always get a failure in XP
BOOTPART DOS622 C:\BOOTSECT.622 "MS-Dos 6.22"
but debug.exe is always successful to make a bootsect.dos.
SysXPfat.com seems working to make bootsect.dos redirected by ntdlr, it helps you to reboot again successfully to XP after making bootsect.dos( 98)
2)When I use bootpart( still working good in XPE ) to reboot to XP, that is a failure but in the contrary, Sysxpfat.com C:\ is so better.
I completely dunno why there is a bit difference between them.

Those edited by you are backup certainly in a Opera profile within Ramdisk . You copy that folder Opera edited already to any temp folder hard disk.Use this folder ( Opera ) to make an OperaP_SFX.exe file for all of the next uses of Opera in XPE.

Jaclaz's new suggestions makes my Dietmar's modified method running a full XPSP2 in USB-HDD to have the best application:
1) keep your OS( XPSP2 ) with all personal data in your USB portable box ( laptop size )
2) Easier update all softs than XPE than ever( like Office 2003, IE 7 beta 2. Windows media player 11 ): all of those softs never have any working plugin in XPE ...
