  1. Thanks to all who helped, but I figured it out. Seems all the themes in C:\Windows\Resources had been deleted. I never would have thought of that, and I find it curious as to why chkdsk would delete them.
  2. Hi all...first timer here with just a small problem, but it is bugging me. Maybe its just as well, considering I am finding lots of links to sites that will allow me to customize XP appearance, but I would like to know if I can get my comp back to where it was...i.e. the ability to have XP's Windows and Buttons be like what came with the OS. Here's what happened... My system, AMD 3500+ Athlon with XP Pro, has been freezing today. Like 3 times with in 2 hours. I was running apps, but nothing major. After the last one, Windows CHKDSK ran, and it deleted a few files as it was running (can't remember which ones as it went pretty fast). After the restart, Win2K appearance settings were on. Thinking it was just some weird occurance, I went and tried to change it back. However, its not there...just Windows Classic Style is there, under Windows and buttons. So now I have a tool bar, and the start menu, and window "tops" like Win2k. I tried this: Enable themes in your services list. Start --> Run --> services.msc but it said it was already running and any attempts to make some setting changes there didn't help. Well, thanks for any help anyone can rovide. Minor
