Dude you're wrongggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!! Replace those file in your i386 installation folder. It has nothing to do with the hotfixes update as you used to install using switches and other crap... You don't need registry entries, and cat... As I said, simply replace the same files in your i386 installation folder and you're good to go... This small package doesn't include 5 hotfixes, and one of those is update for windows messenger which is nothing but new executable file which could be packed using makecab and replaced in SP2 installation folder, and after you integrate SP2 into Windows XP you have patched windows messenger as well..

Download this file and extract it into I386 folder (replace ALL!) http://bis.midco.net/lradunovic/HFSP2.zip It applies to all Windows XP Service Pack 2 version(Pro, Home, Media, Tablet) It's gonna reduce your update down to 5 hotfixes One of those 5 is update for Windows Messenger... Enjoy!!! Only apply to clean Windows XP SP2 installation (NO SVCPACK!!!)

The Windows Genuine Advantage thing is purely voluntary right now. There is no restrictions on downloading currently. These restrictions are planned by MS for later in the year. If you are having trouble downloading anything right now, it is NOT because of the Windows Genuine Advantage program. As stated by others, XPCreate works fantastic today, auto downloads and everything. Already slipstreamed my XP full and my XP Upgrade CD's and not a problem. My original post was just to give a heads up in case the developer wanted to get a jump on any potential problems the Windows Genuine Advantage will cause in the FUTURE. I tried XPCREATE today and can't download anything...

Yeah I have the same problem here... It wont download updates/HF automatically. So, I place HF manually, which is pain in butt

Next hotfixes when it's release, install it, pack its file and replace those in installation. You will be always up to date.

Forget the batch and other crap we talked so far.... All you need is this tool to run on your running windows xp machine fully patched... http://bis.midco.net/lradunovic/WUL.rar Run the tool and you will see the list of all your hotfixes installed in computer as well as what files were included in those hotfixes. Once you get the list of files for hotfix, find in you i386 folder of your running windows xp. Make a copy of it and than using makecab.exe pack it. c:\makecab filename.extension Next step is simply to take thos packed files and place into you installation CD, overwrite No batch, no hotfixes files, size of CD is the same, and of course hotfixes is embedded This is hotfixe for IE on Windows XP SP2. I used IExpress wizard and it works with NVIDIA Display Drivers. Awesome... Doesn't work with ATI drivers. I can't add folders, just files! Anybody found a solution for it?
