Unf***ingbelievable, I have been dealing with this problem for 6 Months. I had ordered the new CD from HP for my HP OfficeJet 7130xi, and tried to uninstall and reinstall according to the setup chart, except, during this method of installation, by default I suppose, Win XPSP2 loads the DOT_4 printing support for ieee1284 only. Only when I uninstalled the printer completely, unplugged the USB cable, turned the unit back on to use copier, forgot it was uninstalled, tried to print from web, was told I don't have a printer, plugged in USB, got option to install IEEE1284 DOT_4 or USB Printer support, was I able to load all the Software and now I can use my scanner again, as well as My Webcams. So many wasted hours(actually days/weeks/nights) for trying to follow setup chart to the letter. Microsoft or HP couldn't or Didn't tell me why I was getting the Error Message, much less how to solve the problem. In fact, this site is the closest I came to finding the same error message on the internet period. I am a happy camper today. Thanks for your replyies and attempt to help.
