  1. the cat files limit has just only one problem. at T39 the setup hangs for a lot of time depending how powerfull your pc is. so i u exceed the number of 150 the rest of cat files will be installed but the setup will be longer. for example my svcpack folder has 152 cat files. they all are installed but setup hangs at t39 for 4 min. .....but my system is a little powerfull..... :P

Thanks again Boooggy! that's all i need to know.

  2. like i said in my previous post please read my first post carefully. cat files are needed only if u dont disable windows file protection......

I just want to ask clarification regarding this CAT limit and WFP thing. If CAT limit will be exceeded and SFC is enabled, lets say i have 155 catalogs/updates, does this mean 5 of which will not be installed or all 155 will be installed but 5 will not be protected by WFP?

Pls enlightened me, i'm just want to make sure on what to do.

As usual, thanks Boooggy, for your effort.

  3. @troscat

wmp.reg is the my personalized settings for wmp10. u can use it or not. actually u can create your own.

    @Outatouch

depends on what method u use

    1. u use the slipstreamer. first step is to copy your xpcd to your hard drive let's say on drive d:\. then u can run the slipstreamer 3. after the slipstreamer finishes add my pack to d:\xpcd\i386.it will ask u if u wanna overwrite the files. u choose yes to all. that is it....

    2. u use Ryan's wmp10 addon. u extract using winrar this addon to a empty folder.then u add the files i specified into one of myy previous posts from here. after this u recompress. i used for this picozip cause it can compress .cab.

    Thank u very much boooggy.

  4. u can't add wmp10.reg to hivedef.inf... u have to edit the reg file and add the entries u need to the hivedef file. actually this are few things that i add to hivedef:

If that is so what is your WMP10.reg file for? I've downloaded it thinking it is part of your WP10 update pack. Is it a fix on something or just a personalized settings on your WMP10? Excuse me for asking too many questions, i'm just a noob on this but very much interested to learn.

  5. this is how my reg file looks for wmp 10:

    Attached File(s)

    wmp10.rar ( 24.45k ) Number of downloads: 70

Just a question to boooggy, because i'm at lost and not sure what to do after reading all the previous posts. If i want to copy your registry entries as qouted above, where do i put it? Is it into the HIVEDEF.INF file? If yes, at where particular section do i insert it in the said file?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi! I need help.

I'm getting a fatal error message, saying "Error: Couldn't read section entry. Please report the bug.", when trying to use ver.3 WMP10 Slipstreamer. I have an English XP SP2 source updated with RyanVM v 1.2.2 and 1.2.2b update packs using nLite v1.04.

I did not remove WMP9 and WMP6.4 during nLite tweaking. I got the error during WMP10 slipstreaming prior to making the ISO in nLite.

    Pls help! :(

  7. Hello world,

I'm from the Philippines. I'm just a newbie, very much interested to join MSFN to know more about PCs, especially Windows software.

I hope MSFN will not disappoint me.

    Thanks and regards,

    troscat :)
