  1. Hi There, For some odd reason, I can no longer read my dos-floppies on booting. Goes like this: I always get the message: "Can't load BDos kernel file: A:\IBMDos.com. System halted". Just before I updated my Anti-Vir, the W32/Nsag.B got into my coputer. No program whatsoever can completely remove it. Even not Hijack this. The virus is not working anymore, but is still detected, as W32\Nsag.B, and by another program as Beagle (or something like that). The SPGuard, nor ShudderLTD, that came with it can't be removed by regedit ("Windows is using it"). No problem, I thought, I have a very fresh HDD-Nero-BackUp. Just put in any installation disk (Win98) and go to the CDRom and type: nrestore.exe. Or put in the rescuedisks of Partition magic, format C: and go to nRestore.exe. I did it for years now. Easy and great! Now, my PC seems to be 'Dos-blind', except in the dos-prompt, while running Win2K. But then: HDD-backup can go on, while the system is still running There seems to be no virusscan in the boot-system. I have an Asus K8N4-E Deluxe with build-in virusprotection NVIDIA, which can't be immobolised in the bios. It's simply not there in that bios. My daugther has the same nLite version Win2K been installed by me on here PC, and here: everything goes well. Here PC is a lot older. I'm a format C: - freak who is totally immobilized. Heeeelp, please.
  2. Hoi Martin, Thank you. Wishing you all the best, Lisabel.
  3. Thank you prathapml ! All the best to you, Lisabel.
  4. Hi there ! I searched this forum, but couldn't find an answer to my question. Did I overlook it or didn't anyone had this problem before, who knows. My PC (and many more equipment was struck by lightning (really). I build a new PC, with an Asus K8N4-E Deluxe motherboard. It doesn't have an AGP-slot anymore, but a PCIex. No drivers for it on my install-CD, off-course. So the setup got stuck at the some point. I created a new one with nLite. SP4 included, all known Hotfixes in the correct language, removed Paint, Pinball, games, other languages and some other minor things. All very cautious: I'm not an expert. I did succeed in making the new bootable CD. And... it passed the point of the PCIex, started formatting, etc. GREAT ! But than.... Now here's the problem: it hangs where is mentioned (in the blue field) "One moment please. Setup initializes your Windows 2000 configuration" (my translation). The white field (below) says: "Saving configuration". Well, that one moment has become one hour now, so: desperation is knocking on my door. Is this a bug or my wrongdoing? After all: I'm not an IT-expert. Thanks in advance for your advice.
  5. Greetings to all of you, and especially to the administrator. I was very glad to find nLite, it was just what I needed in these desperate days, after lightning struck my PC. So I had to build a new one. nLite helps me to install from old Win2K, because the bootdiskettes didn't know yet what PCIex is. I'm furhter now, but still with a problem. But that's for another forum here. Wishing you all the best, Lisabel.
