  1. Excellent, I still have the problem of installing these files which it asks for as a result of chosing them drivers. It asked for Viamraid.sys also viamraid.cat, viamraid.ini which unless installed will not loads windows XP Pro. any idea's? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Forgot to add they are on the floppy disk but will not install or copy across, checked the A: drive no problem with that. Strange.

  3. Hi folks, im currently just finished building my Athlon 64 3200 with a K8tneofis2r see below. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo...ProductID=79163 I also bought a 250Gb Maxtor Maxline3 (24x7 7200rpm,16MB) SATA II Features, NCQ - Lead Free hard drive. After turning this on I started to setup windows xp pro and pressed F6 to install raid drivers, im unsure as to what to select on the two floppys which came with this motherboard. I have two options which include Floppy disk G72-PRSA060 which has two options for XP, winxp Promise Sata378 tm Controllers, also Winxp promise Fasttrak 376/378 tm controller. 2nd floppy G72- Vasa040 via Sata Raid driver for Vt6420/ vt8237 disk which includes Via Raid controller XP, also Via ATA/Atapi Host ontroller XP. Which options would I need to accept bearing in mind im using one hard drive Sata maxline 3 only, I was under the impression that raid was for more than one drive. It accepts via raid controller xp but was concerned if any others should be installed, can anyone shead light for me on this? I also have another problem which im unsure as to where it should be posted, which relates to the above, during installing viamraid.sys, viamraid. cat, viamraid.ini after installing xp pro pressing f6, it will not install them. It later carries on until it starts to install Xp Pro, it says cannot find viamraid.sys and the other two and asked for disks. I place these in the machine and it still won't copy them, I then skip them and carry on, winxp then fails to install. How important are these 3 files, as i later put Windows ME on without these files, although after installing instalation drivers in windows i restarted and the machine shut down. Would it be better to use Windows me and not install three files and installation disk, or would performance suffer. Seems like a lifetime ago since I built the machine, im even thinking of selling it, buying one built, or returning it as faulty which it clearly is. Floppy drive disks not installing anyway. Any suggestions as to what you would do. I would be extremely grateful, frustrated alex
