  1. Hi and thanks for your answer, 1 About the ASPI, don't know, I'll have a look when I come home (I'm at work now). 2 On the website it hasn't given me a newer firmware yet so no option for this yet. 3 It's with whatever I stick in there, music, DVD, games, data, whatever, for example yesterday, I played Halo (with DVD in DVD Rom), left DVD in drive, played a CD in the DVD RW, ejected the CD inserted in the same drive straight away..... CD didn't got recognised anymore and Halo had disappeared from the other drive as well!!!! No options to right click and explore, it gives an "please insert disc in drive d:", I have to reboot because there's no way for me to use the drives! I use Nero by the way so I'll try to drop the file in System 32 cheers
  2. Now here's an interesting problem..... recently I built my own computer, ASUS A8N FATALity motherboard socket 639, AMD 64 3200 processor, 2 mb pc 400 ram in which I also installed one LG DVD Re-write and Lite-on DVD Rom. All works fine, Maxtor 250 GB and 80 GB on primairy IDE as Master and Slave and DVD Rom and DVD RW as Master and Slave on Secondary IDE. Start up goes fine, all gets recognised in Bios and also in Windows XP home Service pack 2. I can use both dvd drives and everything (all media) get recognised until...... I open one of the drives to change a dvd or cd! From then on, both drives DO NOT recognise any media any more! And it's quite funny... Both drives appear in my computer, both drives appear in Device Manager as properly working, in the "Manage" bit of my computer, both drives are present even showing that the media inside of the drive is full (as in both drives properties) however if I click on the D: drive (DVD ROM) gives me an "please insert disk in drive", even when there is a disk present and the E: drive (DVD RW) I can click on but it shows up as empty! I uninstalled both drivers in Device manager, rebooted Windows so Windows reinstalled the drivers, same problem. If I reboot Windows with the media inside the drives, all works fine again untill I open one of the drives! Any ideas! Change the slave drives (IE Primairy IDE HD master, DVD ROM slave, Primairy IDE DVD RW Master, HD 2 Slave)? Motherboard driver issue?, DVD players drivers issue, Windows XP issue? BIOS issue? (although I don't think so). As a final, after searching the net there's a few other people with the same problem and all of them seem to have LG dvd rw's! Any help much appreciated (it's it bit of a hassle to reboot the computer any time you want to change a CD!
