  1. OK. I've figured this out. There apparently is no folder list access to the Windows folder hierarchy in Outlook 2003. (I'm wondering if this may be because my Outlook 2003 data file is an .ost file now rather than the .pst we used with Outlook 2000? This an office network using Exchange.) With my 2003, an Outlook item cannot be dragged to a Windows folder as in Outlook 2000. However, an Outlook item can be saved to any location on the hard drive using Save As. The My Places Bar is available in the save dialog listing Desktop, My Computer, My Documents, etc. in the left hand portion of the dialog. There is the option to save in a variety of types including the original Outlook item type. There is the difference of having to delete the item from Outlook after saving it elsewhere but I can live with that.
  2. Would this make more sense if I corrected this to the My Places Bar? I'm still stuck. Thanks.
  3. I have Office 2000 installed but recently upgraded Outlook to 2003. In Outlook 2000, folders on the hard drive can be accessed from shorcuts within the Outlook folder list. The folder list in Outlook 2003 does not provide this access. I did research the My Spaces Bar feature which looks like what I need. However, I can't find any evidence of the My Spaces Bar in my Outlook 2003. Do I need to upgrade Office to 2003 to use the My Spaces Bar feature? Thanks.
  4. Thanks for your reply. I'm sure RPCRT4.dll either is not there or corrupted. But it is not loading from the XP recovery disc in the repair process and I don't know how to get beyond the blue screen to further troubleshoot. Attempting to start in Safe Mode gives the same blue screen.
  5. I am trying to fix my XP home after spyware problems on an Inspiron 1000. I now get a blue screen with the error STOP: c0000135 {Unable To Locate Component} This application has failed to start because RPCRT4.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. This has occurred after reinstalling c_1252.nls and c_437.nls from i386 on the Operating System restore disc per Microsoft article 830088. The restore disc is in the drive but in the blue screen condition I can no longer access it. About all I can do is power down the computer. At start up Windows loads and then displays the error. Thanks for any help.
