  1. One of many: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...8&hl=extensions
  2. @ Igor: Isn't this what you're looking for? Got it from gosh's site (from the link you posted).
  3. Easier way: Double-click on the "CacheLimit" (or any DWORD) value you want to change. When the Edit DWORD Value box pops up, select the Decimal radio button, set your new value (in KB), select Hexadecimal, hit OK and you're done. It calculates the hex value for you. (Too lazy to use calculator.)
  4. Hm. Hm.
  5. Some hotfixes (if not all) extract files before installation begins. Those folders are the result of the extraction. If you are installing silently, use the /q /u /n /z switches.
  6. Try gosh's website. Think it's gosh.msfnhosting.org
  7. Please explain what this tweak would accomplish. Faster booting? What? ;Clear the Page File at System Shutdown [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management] "ClearPageFileAtShutdown"-dword:00000001
  8. Discussed here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=14581&hl=ghost
  9. Hm? Press any key? Have a look at some of these threads: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=Se...opics&hl=&st=50
  10. I haven't tried turning off Visual Effects, but I have found a way to add custom settings. (So turning them all off should work). http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8341&st=340
  11. Finally got those darn Visual Effects settings to stick. 1. Make sure the "DefaultApplied" and "DefaultValue" is 0 for all the HKCU keys you want to change. 2. Make sure the corresponding "DefaultValue" in the HKLM key is also 0. Save as .reg
  12. I have never had any luck getting small icons in explorer to stick machine-wide with a .reg file. And when I do get it to work it only does so for my user only. Here is how I got small icons in Explorer (and Internet Explorer) to work machine-wide: set icon=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer reg add %icon%\SmallIcons /v SmallIcons /t REG_SZ /d yes /f Save as .cmd (or .bat) and call it via cmdlines.txt or after or whenever (you can even do it right now). It doesn't require a restart.
  13. A man and his friend was having a conversation. "My wife is an angel" said the man. "You're lucky" the friend said, "My wife's still alive."
  14. Already is. See: "Sticky: Threads of Interest"
  15. I believe you're looking for..... http://www.MSFN.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8385
  16. Also, where can one get an updated DEPLOY.CAB for Windows 2000?
  17. Any one of the more gifted of us want to tackle this one?
  18. I think I get it now. So in essence, then, it's the CD key that determines whether it's Pro or Corporate. If you input one key and you are required to activate, then it's XP Pro. If there's no activation requirement, then it's the Corporate Edition. I see..... Does XP Home behave the same way? (One requiring activation and one doesn't?)
  19. *Sigh* I've been through this thread twice and still do not grasp the difference between Windows XP Pro and Windows XP Pro Corporate. (Aside from Corporate doesn't require activation) What you guys are saying is that if I have Windows XP Pro, and then I register it, I now have Windows XP Pro Corporate? My version says: Microsoft ® Windows Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633 : Service Pack 1) Copyright © 1981-2001 Microsoft Corporation XP Pro or XP Pro Corporate?
  20. There are four spaces between the last "0" and ";Added 21 May 2003" Is this a typo?
  21. Oh, well. It didn't hurt to ask.
  22. Could someone with a high-speed connection be kind enough to do this for Windows Server 2003? Or am I asking too much?
  23. Yeah. I manually extracted the 142KB QChain.exe to a temporary directory, and replaced it with the one SVCPACK.INF pointed to. ie. Your SVCPACK.INF is correct but the QChain.exe file should be 43.6KB not 142 KB.
  24. No, Thanatos, you don't need to extract it. The original file is over 8 MB and if you extract it, it's about 5 MB. (Don't ask me why) So like I said before it's the .exe file that uses the switches. Meaning: spf.exe /QB Reboot=Supress (Uninstall your copy, reboot and try it again. It works)
