  1. Thanks for the quick reply AaronXP just tried it but it didn't seem to work, I rebooted after it had finished but all files are still set to read only. Just spent a couple of hours searching the net for an answer but I didn't find one, although there seems to be alot of people with the same problem.....wounder if this is a bug in XP, anyway I'll try it on an old Win98 box I've got up in the loft somewhere but if you can think of anything else I'm willing to give it a go.
  2. Thank you very much for your reply Aaron XP I found your tip very helpfull, but I seem to have come across another small problem in that the file in which I extracted the contents of the windows XP cd is set to read only. When I click on properties and uncheck read only and apply and then ok after a couple of seconds the file returns to read only again, any idea how I can get round this? I've already tried this in adminastritive mode but this did not work either. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.
  3. Hello everyone can somebody please give me some advise on using the Command Prompt . I am trying to slipstream XPsp1a to a Win XP cd, I have extracted the service pack to a folder but when I run the Command Prompt it defaults to C:\Documents and Settings\Andy> and willnot let me change it to the folder I extracted the fills to, I am not an expert on computers so any advise would be very helpfull. Thanks in advance
