Another (not so well known) imaging software is R-Drive Image. I've been using Acronis for quite some time but after having some problems with it i switched to R-drive. Not as fast backups as Acronis but very reliable.

I have an odd problem with my Vista Ultimate. When i have Aero enabled, scrolling in general and autoscroll in particular, in all browsers, becomes very jerky. I have a slightly overclocked amd x2 3800+, 2 gb of ram and my trusty old 128 mb Nvidia 6600GT. Everyting else runs smooth as silk with Aero on, i have no problems whatsoever with 3d gaming. Is scrolling a web page really that taxing for the system? I've searched the web but haven't found anyone else complaining about this so i thought i'd ask you guys.
Btw i have the latest Nvidia drivers and i have tried both the generic mouse drivers included in Vista and the latest Logitech drivers.

R-Drive Image is another nice one, been using both Ghost and Acronis but I think R-drive feels more light-weight and booting from rescue cd is blazing fast.

I don't know if i understand exactly what you mean but Dsynchronize can run as a service and do real-time synch.
