  1. Hi Guys, I hope this post isn't redundant, I searched but could not find the information I needed. I am trying to backup the system state on several PC's here at work. On some of the PCs there is no problem, but on others there is no option to backup the system state. When I run the backup using a command line script it Executes the backup and immediatley exits. All are running Windows XP Professional, although some are SP1 and others are SP2. Could the problem be that SP1 does not support System State backup and SP2 does? Has anyone had this problem, if so what can be done short of moving all of the PCs to SP2. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Gary
  2. Steve, Thanks for the quick reply. I will look at both and decide which to use. I can't believe there isn't a way in DOS to hide the console window when running a script or batch job. Thanks again, Gary
  3. Hi Guys, I hope this is the right forum. I have searched and cannot find the answer to my question. I want to execute a batch file using "scheduled tasks", and I want to prevent the "windows console" from becoming visible. I have tried adding a "-b" (background) to the end of the command line, but the console still flashes up on the screen for a second. Is there a way to totally prevent the "windows console" from becoming visible. Thanks, Gary
