As far as i'm aware there is no partition re-size native within windows xp.
Personally i use PM8 but there are free tools out there that can do this.

Folks,
I am looking to set the HAL to be "Standard PC" on an Acer System that i got from a friend. I have tried loading Windows from my own disk but it fails to reboot properly and hangs consistently. After much debugging i traced the fault to the HAL that windows was loading, "ACPI Uniprocessor", wouldn't work.
What i want to achieve is for the system to use the "Standard PC" HAL at all times when loading on this system.
Is there anyway this can be done??
System Specs are
Acer Power SC
Celeron 1GHz
256MB Ram
20GB HDD.
I know its not the best but it will run XP for someone.

Have you checked the computer browser service is running??

I would have said do it when you install the OS.
Other than that i know of no app that can do it. Maybe someone else does.

I would try re-applying SP6a. This seems to cure a multitude of problems with NT4.
Remember and reapply any hotfixes you installed after SP6a.

My tip would be to install DNS and ensure that it is running properly BEFORE attempting to promote to a DC.
Always ensure that your DC uses a static IP, i prefer to use the start of the IP range.
Always point the DC to use the DNS server, i always prefer to have it on the same server, as it's primary DNS server then set up your DNS server to forward requests to another DNS server, internal or external, if required.
Not so important with 2003 but ensure you have a good naming structure for you AD forest. Ensure you have all OU's etc named and ready to go when you install AD.
Finally DOCUMENT everything. This is especially handy if you have a disaster scenario, seen it happen many a time, and will allow you to trace your steps and rebuild to the same standard as before. Take plenty of screen shots as well.
As klasika says always take a backup image of the drive for ease of roll back.

Your drives won't be mapped though when your offline regardless of anything you put in your script. They will however be visible but you will not be able to access then. For this you should consider using Offline Folders.
The batch file is use at work is as follows
net use g: \\servername\sharedfoldername
These drive show up whether i am connected to the network or not. Obviuosly i can't access them when offline.

Do you have a Windows 2000 domain setup??
If so then create a GPO to this effect then apply it to the OU's that you want.

Do you have access to the local drive??
You won't be able to access the drive from a boot floppy if its NTFS, without some other software, i use NTFS Pro from Winternals.
If it is FAT32 then you need to look at the commands your are typing into the command line. i would usually have the copy executable from youre PC on your floppy then use the following command
a:\Copy rpctr4.dll %systemroot%\system32
Substitute %systemroot% for your windows folder.
Hopefully this will work for you.

Have you tried the option to "Restore Defaults"?
The default on my 2000 machine is to open in th esame window.

Depend on how you want to hide the partition, from network users you should be able to use the "$" after the partition name. Form other users on the same PC you'll need to reboot.

As has been said its the CMOS battery and this is typically a CR2032 coin cell battery.

I would enable simple file sharing, create a user account on your pc with the same username and password as the user account on the other PC. Thus the user can gain access to the shared folder.

Have you loaded CD drivers so that ghost can read from it??

Thats not the error.
I get a blue screen with this message: STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum} The image apphelp.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum. and locks.
No offence m8 but did you even google for the error

I would delete the partition using PM.
Boot from my WinXP CD and create one during the setup process.

Default User & printers
in Windows XP

You could add the printers as Local printers then any user that logs into the machine will pick them up. Just remeber and uncheck the box that says "automatically detect and install my plug and play printer"
