  1. Hi There, Just a quick question. I want to have my Server 2003 Install automatically enable Video Hardware Acceleration (Disabled by Default). Is there a way with WINNT.SIF or a Registry Entry this can be done. Also, in the Direct-X Controls to enable the Direct-X Video Acceleration is there a way to do that as well (I already have a Direct-X Package that install during the GUI Install Phase in WINNT.SIF) Thank you very much in Advance!
  2. Thank you so much. I will give that a try and see where it takes me. I will post my results as I don;t think anyone has complied a complete list of MCE Hotfixes yet. I couldn't Google any results either...
  3. Hey Everyone! I have been out of the slipstreaming of OS's for a year and a half and I am getting back into it. I am creating an MCE 2005 Disc and am looking for a complete Hotfix list for MCE (To make sure I get all the updates included). Does anyone have one or know if one exists or am I missing it? Thanks in Advance!
  4. Very Interesting. I will look into them... Compared to Systemworks 2006 or Registry Mechanic 5, how do they stand up?
  5. Well, I had the same problem. I Used nLite and did the Direct Integration. The Hotfixes were truely slipstreamed into the Windows Installation.
  6. Well, Everything is looking good. Really cut down on my overall disc size. Install seems to be going smooth. I will investigate further as to what nLite got it's fingers into and changed. What I Did was found a master list of Hotfixes for XP SP2 and downloaded them all. I Also have pretty much the entire SP3 Hotfix Collection. So I combined them all together. Approx 201 Hotfixes in total.
  7. Well, I just did Direct Integration with nLite. I will check it out in the next day or two, but eveyrthing looks good.
  8. I looked at that, but all it does is place them in the SVCPACK folder and make the proper SVCPACK.INF entry's with *.cat files for them. This still does not cut doen on Install Time. If they are Slipstreamed into Windows PRIOR to OS Install then the install will be very quick AND up to date.
  9. Ok, look into these options. Of them, what is the best? I used nLite almost a year ago and the problem was it created it's own install files and I lost control of my Unattended. (Kinda Control Freak). I want to know where every setup file is going and what is being changed. Am I able to ONLY integrate the Hotfixes and not have nLite start getting its little fingers modifiying more than that in my Setup files and WINNT.SIF. (You know what I mean... )
  10. Hello! Ok, as the topic says, What is the best Registry Cleanup Program out there? I have used Norton Systemworks and Registry Mechanic before. What are you people using and what do you recommend?
  11. Hi There, I have been searching around and can not find the "Best" way to integrate the Hotfixes (XP SP2). I currently just put them into SVCPACK and then modify the SVCPACK.INF accordingly. But There are so many hotfixes now that it takes an extra hour during the install to get them all in. Is there anyway to get them slipstreamed into windows? So I guess I am asking, what is the best way to integrate Hotfixes? SVCPACK Method, Integrate Method, nLite Method? Thank you for your time! B)
  12. Thank You Very Much!!! I Knew it was one of the settings but couldn't remember!
  13. Hello! Ok, I have set the Winnt.sif to Autologon as Administator when I first started this DVD at the beginning of time. But Now I have decided that I want to Set the User Name on First Logon with the Welcome Screen. What Is The Setting in Winnt.sif for it? Here is what I have... 14. Great Tip! No need to let EVERYONE in on our little secrets!!!
  15. Hi There, I Tried to use that Driver provided for the X-FI but it does not work. I just get an Exclamation Mark for the Driver and No Audio. Anyone been able to get the X-FI to work in any way?
  16. Interesting... Well, when I get caught up in this thread over the next week I will see if I can help the cause again. I almost went insane testing to figure out KTD Method. 4 - 5 OS Installs a Night There has to be a way to keep it simple. The more 3rd Party stuff involved the more complicated it gets.
  17. Hey Everyone!!!!!!! I'm Back!!!!! How's it going Erik, Rogue, Bashrat! Wow, Things have sure come a long way since we developed the KTD Method! I am still catching up on everything to date. How is it working? I assume we have finally merged KTD & Unlimited Methods?
  18. Hi There, Ok, Here is what I need.... I Need to integrate Basic Drivers for the Sound Blaster X-FI so you get BASIC Audio. This will fill my needs until the full installation can be performed from the Creative Disc. I like to listen to Music while waiting for my Apps to install. LOL!!! Anyone know What Drivers to use or some of you Guru's have an even easier way. I would like to add them to my $OEM$ Path in Winnt.sif but I am not sure what drivers to include.
  19. Hey There, Yea, I should strip it down as well. All I did for the large apps is do a max compression with Winrar in a self extract /w silent. Then I call them up in Xplode so it will create the directorys, expand the files and then launch the Batch file for installation. Works well and this way I can keep the DVD up-to-date very simply by keeping all the apps modular. I am constantly making revisions. I am now on RC0 with your fix you have helped me with.
  20. Hi There, I FINALLY got some time to test it out. After I used the Norton Removal Tool everything intalled fine without any hitches. B) Thank You Very Much, you have been a GREAT help. You have also helped me start to understand how to edit MSI Files. We will see what Systemworks 2006 will bring us. I Know you help will be required then that happens. [EDIT] Now, about Ghost. I am trying to slim down the install package. Can I remove all the contents of both Ghost directory's and leave just the MSI's?
  21. Hey! Ok, I will try this tonight at home. BTW, I am using a machine for this. Maby my problem is a small residual of the original install's. I used Fix It 6 to clean out the reg. But I will try this tool you mentioned and try my install again. I really appreciate the help!!!! I Will post an Edit Tonight after I try again.
  22. Well, I re-did all the steps layed out to Edit to custom the install and remove NAV. Then Edit to remove Ghost and I Still get the Error when it switches from Norton Systemworks to Antivirus on the previous post. Any Feedbackon this? Never got this error last night when I tested without changing Ghost Files. But if I replace them with the originals I STILL get the error.
  23. Hi There, Ok, I will check what you posted and try it and get back to you.... Thanks!!! [EDIT] Ok, I tried it, and yes I have Premier 2005. I get to Norton Antivirus, Feature: SysOpt and it comes up with a message in a Box "Norton Systemworks Premier 2005 configuration has failed. Do you want to try to install again?" This message did not come up until I made the changes in the two Ghost Files. Is there more to be removed from the Ghost Files? [EDIT 2] Ok, I replaced the Original Ghost Files and still same message. I am going to start fresh and make all the changes again.
  24. Ok, Things went well, except Ghost Still Installed and Cleansweep did not appear. I used the exact remove stuff from the install, Here is what there was... REMOVE=Image32,Norton_Registry_Tracker,Norton_Registry_Editor,Norton_File_Compare,DOS_Applications,N orton_Optimization_Wizard It should have a few other items on here. I Do not see Ghost listed here as it SHOULD be. So does anyone have any more info on this? The install worked good. Most important the NAV didn't install. The other big one is No Ghost, Then I will be happy. I Know I am close but what am I missing? I Followed the instructions EXACT.
