  1. Thank you for your response. I am running Windows 8 Version 6.2 (Build 9200). The new computer is Windows 11. On the Windows 8 computer, for the C: drive properties I enabled Sharing and gave the C: drive a sharing name. On the Windows 11 computer, when I try to map a drive to the share name, I get a message, "Windows cannot access...". If I try to map a drive by browsing, I get a window that says "Network" with nothing in it. Both computers are connected to a common router, which is used to access internet.
  2. I recently bought a new computer and want to share files between it and my Windows 8 computer so I did the following: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center | Change advanced sharing settings | Turn on file and printer sharing | Save changes When I come back to "Change advanced sharing settings" file and printer sharing is still turned off. Does anyone know how to fix this?
