MinorVersion=1 and BuildNumber=7601 in many cases. You may also need FirefoxFix=1 or Win7SuperVerFix=1. That is in addition to Enabled=1 of course.

I have a problem with Chrome 95, it says

The procedure entry point K32GetPerformanceInfo could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.DLL

Here are some more details for usage of osver.ini.

You can set settings per-application as above (set Enabled=1 as well), or set them for the entire system by making an entry appended with "[global]".

To accommodate every version checking method used by an application, several options are available. Unfortunately I also found that breakage became a significant possibility very quickly, so keep that in mind when using the version spoofers.

You can set these values to 1:

    Win7SuperVerFix

    Win8SuperVerFix

    Win10SuperVerFix

FirefoxFix (a lighter version of Win7SuperVerFix)

You can also set these values:

    MajorVersion

    MinorVersion

    BuildNumber

    CSDVer (the service pack string)

PlatformId (caution, as the standard value of 2 is used to indicate that the OS is Windows NT. 1 represents 9x and 0 represents Win32s)

For example, Firefox installers would need MinorVersion=1. You may have to briefly set it under [global] for installers that copy executables to a temp folder and do the version checks there.

I need to restart to make it work?

That laptop GPU was not very powerful. Have you tried with Aero disabled? The last Vista driver should be 342.01. You mentioned “while using Chrome” in your September 12 post. If the issue is only with Chrome, maybe look up your CPU to see if it supports SSE3 that Chrome now requires.

My CPU supports SSE3, is a Core 2 Duo.

Also happened in a Sandy Bridge Core i5 (Intel HD Graphics 3000).

I reinstalled windows days ago and this happens again, its crashing constantly with/without chrome running.

  4. I have a problem with DWM, constantly crashes  without reason.

My GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS, driver ver 310.90 (idk if this is the last version for vista)

    Here is the translated log:
      Problem event name:    APPCRASH

    For those wanting to run Firefox 89+ on Vista, open xul.dll in a hex editor and search for the hex sequence FC 1C 01 00 00 C7 46 08 B0 1D 00 00 31 C9 BA 04 and change the bolded numbers to 72 17 and then again with 6B 2D 04 C7 47 FC 1C 01 00 00 C7 47 08 B0 1D 00

Notice how 1DB0 is hex for 7600 and 1772 is hex for 6002.

while i running chrome, dwm constantly stops working.
    There's a solution?

Work continues on the Vista extended kernel. With the next release, you will be able to spoof version numbers on-demand, for either a specific application or the entire system. The values will be set in osver.ini in the Windows folder.

Because I had difficulty accessing high-performance, Vista-compatible hardware for the past few months, I was initially forced to test it on NT4.

with this it will be possible to use apps that support windows 8.1 and below?
