Hi similar error with me too. I was not present when XP tried to install....had to leave the pc DL overnight and seemed to have done the deed when I was asleep. I DID have Spybot S&D active at the time with immunize. On the same level (I think) I also had SpywareBlaster activated too. Are the SP2 files still on my PC somewhere? Wouldn't mind disconnecting from net, rebooting without the spyware killers active and trying to install SP2 again. This is a fresh XP install of two days old on a new freshly formatted and partitioned HDD. Did run checkdisc and all seemed OK (thought results were only flashed up for about 1/2 second!) Only I was on the PC as administrator of something (you know..with max rights to tinker)
