  1. yup .. the newer $OEM$ folder worked a treat... thanks for your time and solution mritter...
  2. i have tried 7.2.0 but the icons down the left hand side are missing from the WPI.hta... i will check your other posts about the $OEM$ folder...
  3. i dont think that it is the start .exe... i run wpi from a dvd using 'runwpi.cmd' .... it might be me running a cleanup .cmd at the end, but i doubt it... it looks like the install has lost its 'path' at the end, then desides to crash as it cant find the rb_config.js, then it just hangs... if i knew what file the code is contained and what part i may be able to correct it, but as yet i cannot find it... thank you for your time, its much apreciated..
  4. afer winxp install... its happening right at the end of WPI on the last app... i have to use the three fingerd salute to kill WPI to get to the desktop.. i notice that the rb_config.js is still in the root of the hdd... is this because its not loading the desktop before install?
  5. hi, i'm using WPI 7.1 and after the install has finished i get an error saying ''could not open reboot config file'' rb_config.js any ideas?
  6. thanks, zorphnog but i used to use, and still do if running from CD\DVD IF EXIST D:\CD.txt set CDROM=D: IF EXIST E:\CD.txt set CDROM=E: IF EXIST F:\CD.txt set CDROM=F: IF EXIST G:\CD.txt set CDROM=G: IF EXIST H:\CD.txt set CDROM=H: IF EXIST I:\CD.txt set CDROM=I: IF EXIST J:\CD.txt set CDROM=J: XCOPY "%CDROM%\ect. ect. i have a lot of .cmd files to change, so all i do now is just delete the IF EXIST ect. ect. then replace the %CDROM% with %localdisk" i find it a lot quicker this way ... your way sounds just as good though. and more intrestingly might make the file avalible from a network drive ... hmmm must try this one.
  7. Hi all, i tend to install all my applications after (unattended) windows has loaded to the desktop for this i use WPI from a "USB HDD" the problem i have had in the past is that i cannot use a %CDROM% variable when using a .cmd file with XCOPY to copy over a file to the %systemdrive% from within WPI so what i have done is to use the %LocalDisk% variable here is the code (WPI) config.js -part of- prog[pn]=['Audacity']; ordr[pn]=[17]; desc[pn]=['Create Music or Change File Extensions']; uid[pn]=['AUDACITY']; dflt[pn]=['no']; cat[pn]=['MultiMedia']; forc[pn]=['no']; cmd1[pn]=['%WPIPATH%\\APPS\\Audacity\\Audacity126.exe /SILENT /SP-']; cmd2[pn]=['%WPIPATH%\\APPS\\Audacity\\Audacity.cmd']; pn++; here is the (CMD) Audacity.cmd cmdow @ /HID @Echo Off MKDIR "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Audacity\" XCOPY /Q "%LocalDisk%\WPI\APPS\Audacity\lame_enc.dll" "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\Audacity\" /Y XCOPY /Q "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Audacity.lnk" "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Audacity\" /Y DEL /Q /F "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Audacity.lnk" DEL /Q /F "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\Audacity.lnk" if you look at the line - XCOPY /Q "%LocalDisk%\WPI\APPS\Audacity\lame_enc.dll" "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\Audacity\" /Y you will notice that the "DRIVE" variable is %LocalDisk% - this seems to be the only code that is needed to set the path to the "USB HDD" to run the XCOPY "some file" from the usb drive if this has been discused before accept my apologys, if not then someone might find it usefull regards, amd64
  8. so far so good ... a short test indicates that all is well removing the opening and closing quotes worked. ... it seems that the installer section is adding them automatically. thanks Kelsenellenelvian, BTW ... WPI rockkkkks.
  9. i'll try that and report back ... thanks for taking your time with me.

  12. hi, i ahve a small problem, i am running WPI from a standalone dvd. not with unattended windows. all WPI files are in root of DVD. i use a APPS folder for my applications, which has sub folders for each application--- DVD/APPS/SOMEPROGRAM/program.exe DVD/(all of the WPI folders - files) i call the WPI.hta with the help of a Start.cmd located in the root of the dvd Start.cmd code @Echo Off IF EXIST D:\CDROM.txt set CDROM=D: IF EXIST E:\CDROM.txt set CDROM=E: IF EXIST F:\CDROM.txt set CDROM=F: IF EXIST G:\CDROM.txt set CDROM=G: IF EXIST H:\CDROM.txt set CDROM=H: IF EXIST I:\CDROM.txt set CDROM=I: IF EXIST J:\CDROM.txt set CDROM=J: START /WAIT %CDROM%\WPI.hta EXIT there are 3 programs that install which are - AddRemovePro2.exe - AudioGrabber.exe - SystemInfoTool.exe these programs have no problem installing but all the rest will not. the above 3 programs have been archived by myself with winrar. here is my config to look at config.js code // Your programs here ... //--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- pn=1; 13. hi peeps, i notice that nlite runs the nLite.inf from the cmdlines.txt. now what i was wondering is can i remove this form the cmdlines.txt and add it to a batch file instead? something like this: START /WAIT "rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection nLite.inf,U" START /WAIT %Systemdrive%\Finish.vbs CDR.exe open %CDROM% START /WAIT %Systemdrive%\Restart.vbs shutdown.exe -r -f -t 04 -c "Windows XP will now restart..." reason being as it is interfering with the cdrom drive opening when it is in the cmdlines.txt. p.s. the .vbs files are just promps.
