I have
HOMEDRIVE=d:
HOMEPATH=\Documents and Settings\Guillaume
If I make
> set HOMEDRIVE="C:"
> set HOMEPATH="\"
The next time I'll launch cmd.exe my HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH will be "d:" and "\Documents ..."
So, how can I make my changes persistants ?
And won't there have any other effects ?

Hello,
When I launch cmd.exe on my XP SP2 (via Start | Run), the current directory is my Home Directory; I get this :
Microsoft Windows XP [version 5.1.2600]
© Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
D:\Documents and Settings\Guillaume>
How can I set up Windows to open cmd.exe in another directory (C:\ or anything else) ?
Thanx,
Guillaume.

about the OOBEINFO.INI method, can somebody explain why it doesn't work ?
0 -
Yes, it's a Home version.
Owner is the Built In admin account on a Home version ?
If I do a "classic" install of XP (not unattended), I don't have this kind of account !

koszopal, I've tried with
- OOBEINFO.IN_ deleted
- OOBEINFO.INI in $oem$\$$\system32\oobe
- OOBEINFO.INI in $oem$\$$\system32
And it still doesn't work :-(
I've tried again the "net user" method and it has worked !
I still have the owner account. Is it normal ?
If so,can I remove it with a batch launched by commandline.txt ?
edit : you'll find attached my files.

I put it in $oem$\$$\system32\ and I haven't deleted OOBEINFO.IN_.
I will try with OOBEINFO.IN_ deleted.
Where do I have to put OOBEINFO.INI exactly ?
in $oem$\$$\system32\ or $oem$\$$\system32\oobe ?

if you put a "msfn" without any gtld and then press [enter], then IE will try every entry in HKLM\software\microsoft\internet explorer\main\urltemplate.
if you put a "msfn" without any gtld and then press Crtl+[enter], IE will go to "http://www.msfn.com". That's what I'd like to change.

Hello,
With IE, if you want to go to http://www.msfn.com, you just have to hit "msfn" and Crtl+[ENTER].
It automaticaly add "http://www" and ".com".
I'd like to had a reg tweak to replace the ".com" by ".fr" (or something else)
I haven't found anything.
Can you help me ?
Guillaume.
