  1. RyanVM's didn't work very well for me so I had to make my own with the /silent switch. It's about 35MBs larger than RyanVMs but it worked as it should. Anyway how did he get that addon so small? Seems like going from a 40 MB redistributable to a 5MB addon there would have to be something missing.

    I managed to create a "switchless installer" executable file using the /silent switch and cut the file size by removing the x64 files, but how is this integrated in nLite? I tried integrating it as a hotfix but that didn't work. Any ideas and where I might be going wrong?

    EDIT: just discovered this thread:

    http://www.msfn.org/board/How_To_Create_Ad...ide_t63596.html

    it pretty much answers my question

  2. setup was aborted early on due to a line a error in textsetup.sif (line 9939)

    The line in question is

    lg_monitor_driver_crt&flatron[1].zip = 2000,,,,,,,2000,0,0

    to give some context, this is where it appears:

    [sourceDisksFiles.x86]

    2gmgsmt.sf2 = 1,,,,,,,,3,3

    3cwmcru.sys = 1,,,,,,,,3,3

    [200 lines later]

    lg995e.icm = 2000,,,,,,,2000,0,0

    lg995e.icm = 2001,,,,,,,2001,0,0

    lg_monitor_driver_crt&flatron[1].zip = 2000,,,,,,,2000,0,0

    lgmnt.cat = 2000,,,,,,,2000,0,0

    lgmnt.inf = 2000,,,,,,,2000,0,0

    I was integrating hotfixes and drivers into a Window XP Pro SP2 VLK, I'm going to try again, but this time I'll leave the particular driver out. I used to include it in my Win2000Pro VLK installation, but perhaps WinXP doesn't need it? Either way... what's causing the line error? is it a syntax issue or the driver?

    thank you, as always any insight would be appreciated. :)

  3. got a message during hotfix integration in WinXP SP2 Vol.

    (advanced option to report messages was enabled)

    Message said:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Warning!

    KB 890175 - direct integration for this hotfix is not supported.

    Please report if this is unexpected

    Do you want to try and use regular integration method for this hotfix?

    [yes] [no]

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    what is meant by "regular integration" here?

    has anyone else experienced this warning... with this hotfix?

    should I just shelve this hotfix and install it once Windows is up and running?

    any help would be appreciate. :)
