hey rion i appricieate(sp) the help sorry for the newb questions, (switching to 2k3 server from nothing is a big step) i have enabled remote desktop and i have added my self as a user to remote desktop but it still wont let me logon, something about "the local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactivly" im guessing that i have to change the local policies, but i havent gotten that far in my book, if its even in it, so how or were do i go to start messeing with local policies and to another question, how do i change password proprties, like if i want to make a password called test, it wont take it, says it doesnt meen password requirments, will i change that in the same place that i change the local policy for accessing the computer? jason

hello, im trying to add a user for myself, so i dont have to keep useing the administrator user name both the book i have, and the windows 2k3 help files say the same thing, open up the computer manager, go to system tools, go to local users and groups, then to users. well when trying to fallow that rout, the local users and groups is not their. because im extreamly new to servers, i have no idea how to fix this. any help would be very appriceated also, im haveing a little bit of trouble with active directory, i know i can add a user to that, (which i have) and then allow that user to log onto the server locally, and threw mstsc (remote desktop i just use mstsc because its easyer to type) but i cant get the computer to let me, it keeps saying "the local policy of this system does not permit you to login interactivly" under the profile for the user, i have selected "allow logon to terminal service" uner the terminal service profile tab, but i dont know if thats right or if that does anything, i enabled it thinking it would allow for me to log on useing mstsc because i was told that mstsc is a terminal service (please correct me if this is wrong) thanks for any help that can be offered. jason
