Jeez, I reported a bug, is it a crime now? I clearly stated that this happens in a preview window of a process(like when you hover mouse cursor on a little window in a taskbar, don't know how else to explain it), not when that window is active or inactive. Watermark used to be there all the time couple of builds ago, since then it was fixed, just not completely it seems.
Absolutely. But not until there's license keys, message popups, watermarks, integrity checks of files and stuff like that. I don't support development of any of those things. Image if every developer would do that? I like the way ShareX is redistributed, it's free and you can donate. No watermarks or message popups involved. So once it's released consider donating the price of a good beer or a lunch to the developer; he deserves our support for making our desktops more tolerable each and every time we use them.
So, if bigmuscle is okay with the way he does things - so be it, who am I to judge.

I'm still pretty sure it's a bug.

Watermark is supposed to be on the desktop only, no?Are you surprised of the watermark being displayed?

That's not a desktop window, that's GTA5.exe on the screen. Obviously I don't have a donation key, because donation terms are ridiculous, but it's not the point. That normal for using a experimental build and using a stable build without a donating key

Window's preview shows watermark on that window:

bigmuscle, is it possible to create some kind of a hook or a program to force Copy-Replace dialog window be shown always on top of all windows? That behaviour is bugged me for years, and I thought that you may have an idea how to fix it.0

I just found out that the issue i mentioned before caused by KB2995004. After i remove KB2995004 everything works fine.

In my case symbols were updated, but only updates removal helped.
Nope, you just need to update the symbols. Donated version does it automatically, otherwise you must help on your own, it has been discussed many times in this topic.Do the above posts mean I have to find older versions of dwmcore.dll and uDWM.dll and replace the current ones so aero glass can work correctly again?

I have the same issue at work pc. I removed two latest Windows updates and it started to work fine again.I'm bit on the slow side ...
I'm too having the pop up message about DWM been incompatible with aero glass. Aero somewhat works ok with only some window headers flashing transparent and non transparent randomly. Other than that everything seems fine.

As a matter of fact, i have the same issue. After getting nothing with installer, i just added dll path to AppInit_DLLs again and it works now that way. Tried on two 8.1 x64 editions, on both installer way doesn't work. No log file is generated, aerohost is running, according to task manager....
-deleted the rc3 folder, removed everything from registry, again executed setup - same effect.
-removed everything and extracted files from 7z manually, added task to scheduler - same effect
-installed setup.exe on a clean virtual machine with 8.1 - same effect.
The process works, but probably loads nothing.
PS donation key is present, symbols also
As i mentioned that before, only for battery mode. Btw, i don't remember having this with early RC versions.
+1Why is it when i restart computer i get a black rectangular box around the glowing text, but when i restart the dwm by the aero glass configurator it shows glowing text without the black box surrounding the text like its supposed to from the start.
Every time i restart comp i have to open the configurator and press apply to remove the black rectangular box

Thanks for the new version BM but I have to say I think it's very rude and intrusive to have the watermark remain on a final build, when it was in testing it was acceptable but in the final version this going to feel more like crap-ware and keep most people away from using it, I realize that maybe for some legal reason you are not able to sell your product and this is why you have chosen to call it a donation, but the fact remains, that this is still a paid software if you want it fully unlocked.
Free is free and that means no constant nag screen on every start, no watermark on the desktop, show me any any other free software that does that, if you want to make being a donator (paying for it) worthwhile then make ta basic free version, remove all the other options in the registry to have custom theme atlas and reflections, text glow, etc and make those extra features available only to donators.
Another thing that I think is very bad is the way you force non donators to download the symbols, it shouldn't matter if your a donator or not, your software should at least in a working state after download, automatic symbol downloading should be available for all.
If you look at any other free software that has a paid for counterpart you will see that the free version still works and does what it's advertised to do without needing extra measures from the end user to get it working, you need to make sure that your software is user friendly and at the moment it isn't unless they have a key, so either get rid of the free version all together and only make it work for donators with a key or make both versions user friendly and function but remove the extra features on the free version.
I agree with you. I don't understand a point of these popups at all, as bigmuscle said earlier:
If you want to donate only to receive license, then please do not do it.
So what is the point to show these freaking popups and watermarks? It's no problem for me to donate, but i disagree with all presented limitations, license files and other terms, for example:
- You donate to support the development of this software, not to buy this software/license.
I don't want to donate to support development of popup windows, watermarks, dll modifying protection(yeah, i checked, sorry ), license checking system and other things like that. It can be cracked anyway, so all drm systems are waste of time.
No offense, just an opinion.

Nope, it doesn't help. When windows is loaded on battery, all windows is like that. DWM restart helps though, but i hope it's possible to fix this. This is what i get when on battery:
Yes, it is known issue that glow effect is not properly updated for windows which have already been opened during DWM startup. Resizing window should fix the problem.

Any response for my issue, bigmuscle?

Wow, artifacts are gone now, neat!

I have artifacts too, funny thing is they can't be captured with printscreen key

Beta 3, win8 x86, still don't have blur, only transparency and colorization.
UPD: Oh, changing color intensity seems to be working, nevermind then. I'll keep testing.

Sorry to everyone I have not respond to his PM. Currently I don't have much time so I only quickly read the messages. On the other side, I'm trying to work hard to provide usable beta soon.
Good luck, i hope x86 version will be available too

To fully finish 32-bit version, could someone pack and share for me following files from C:\Windows\System32\... dwmcore.dll, udwm.dll, themecpl.dll and shell32.dll? (32bit only!!!) Rather via PM not to corrupt license of those files. Thanks!
I sent it to you.

jb3555: thank, do you have only 32bit version? If you have possibility to test x64 - could you compare 0.8 and 0.85 (link is a page back)? Maybe I fixed it in 0.85 but I didn't compile 32-bit version - and cannot do it now because I changed some other things which does not work now.
Unfortunately no, i have 3 pc's, and none of them are x64 I'm also previously used another hack to get window transparency with colorization, now i removed it and your dll works exactly the same way for me:
Can't say i don't like it though And another bug i noticed, iTunes after start looks completely transparent, only search input is visible.

Aero Glass for Win8.1+ 1.4.1

Windows upgraged during the time I was asleep and aero glass created like 60gb of minidumps. System disk was full. Maybe it's a good idea to create like only a couple of them, or overwrite them somehow?
