i've looked for like 6 times in the windows uninstall but it just aint there and Then download and install 6.4 using the above link. Note that 6.4 is for Win95 and NT. i can't install it becose it is for win 98 95 and nt not 2000 or XP Not to sound rude, but you kinda answered your own question. It can't be installed on XP. well i kinda found a way to do that so that's kinda solved now the only thing is how to remove version 8 ?

yes but that is not the old media player that is still media player 8 or something. so how do i uninstall the build in version?

hi I want to use windows media player 6.4 in XP becose i like this media player more then the one in xp i only watch movies and do not play music in windows media player. I'm having the problem to uninstall the media player in xp and i'm having problems finding a version of windows media player 6.4 which i can install in windows xp and use.
