  1.  I have two doubts:
    1. Does KB3172605 (July 2016 update rollup) replace KB3156417 (May 2016 update rollup)?
    2. Integrate KB3170455 (update for Windows Print Spooler)? Supposedly it stops non-admin users from installing a network-printer :/

What set of updates is the best to integrate (KB in exact order):
    KB3020369 kb3125574-v4 KB3168965 KB3172605
    KB3020369 kb3125574-v4 KB3156417 KB3168965 KB3172605
    KB3020369 kb3125574-v4 KB3156417 KB3168965 KB3170455 KB3172605
    ?

    KB short descritpion:
KB3020369 April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
    KB3125574 Convenience rollup update for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
    KB3156417 May 17 2016 update rollup for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
KB3168965 July 12 2016 Security Update for Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers
KB3170455 July 12 2016 Security Update for Windows Print Spooler Components
    KB3172605 July 21 2016 update rollup for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

  2. Anyone has following KB931125 (rootsupd.exe) "bug"?

    When I integrate or install:

Update for Root Certificates for Windows XP [March 2014] (KB931125)

Windows Update / Microsoft Update still wants older version:
Update for Root Certificates for Windows XP [November 2013] (KB931125)

How to disable this "buggy" notification?

    PS

I know that I can integrate / install

Update for Root Certificates for Windows XP [November 2013] (KB931125)

but it's not the solution I want :).

  3. Are you sure that new HFSLIP generates correct HFSLIP.CMD file?

Here is start of my \I386\SVCPACK\HFSLIP.CMD -

    - %HFSLIPSVC% variable is used before declaration:

    MSIEXEC /i %HFSLIPSVC%msdrmclient.msi /qn /norestart ALLUSERS=1
    MSIEXEC /i %HFSLIPSVC%rmclientbackcompat.msi /qn /norestart ALLUSERS=1
    MSIEXEC /i %HFSLIPSVC%uphclean-setup.msi /qn /norestart ALLUSERS=1
    regedit.exe /s "%HFSLIPSVC%WindowsXP-KB2264107-x86.reg"
    regedit.exe /s "%HFSLIPSVC%WindowsXP-KB968389-x86.reg"
    rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %HFSLIPSVC%Windows-KB909520-v1.000-x86.inf,,1
    @ECHO OFF
    TITLE HFSLIP
    SET HFSLIP=%~dp0..\
    SET HFSLIPSVC=%~dp0

  4. No, if you are slipstreaming IE8, then use ONLY IE8-WindowsXP-KB2936068-x86-Your Language.exe

In this particular matter you're wrong:

    kb2936068 replaces kb2925418 which replaces kb2909921:

"Empty dialog when opening "Organize Favorites" from Windows Explorer, when using Internet Explorer 8

This update, intentionally for IE6, is an optional update for IE8. It contains the new shdocvw.dll (to fix this error) which is not inside of the IE8-update. Read also the articles.

    IE8: WindowsXP-KB2909921-x86-XXX.exe

As an alternative you can extract the shdocvw.dll (SP3QFE-folder) from this update,

compress it with makecab.exe to shdocvw.dl_ and place it to REPLACE\I386."

  5. KB2922229: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42329 (kernel32.dll) supersedes KB960417

    KB2936068: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42431 (IE6 update) supersedes KB2925418

KB2936068 is in three versions: for IE 6, 7, 8.

    Users with IE8 should use both? - KB2936068 for IE8 and IE6?

    (IE8-WindowsXP-KB2936068-x86-XXX.exe + WindowsXP-KB2936068-x86-XXX.exe?)

    Is it correct?

That's all? - Just two updates in april?

    I'm disappointed...

    ;)

  6. Since I last wrote about not being able to access Mim0's website, I was able to access it fine for two days (3/14/14 and 3/15/14, I believe) even though I had made no changes to my computer nor gateway. Then, after In the next day or so I may have a chance to try again via a different computer/ISP. Failing that, though, does anyone have any ideas what my problem might be?

Your "problem" is very simple and common, becasue it's not your problem - the problem is with Mim0 site/hosting.

It's getting better, but I also had some issues - bphlpt IMHO is wrong.

  7. Jakson, at the moment my main OS is still Windows XP. So I was not aware of this problem you experience when running HFSLIP under a newer OS.

I have merged some fixes from tomasz86, but these lines are new to me. Anway I have added them to beta K v6 now.

I've just tested your latest beta K v6 (dpcdll.dll fix) with KB2878379-v2 in HF folder -

    - the installation process completed without any errors.

(didn't test this update in SVCPACK)

  8. new file-checker for XP:

2014-02-15- Added: KB2916036 (MS14-005: Microsoft XML Core Services 3)- Added: KB2909921 (MS14-010: Internet Explorer)- Added: KB2909212 (MS14-011: VBScript Scripting Engine)- Added: KB890830 (Malicious Software Removal Tool 5.9.9902.0)- Added: Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.70- Removed: KB2898785 (MS13-097: Internet Explorer, replaced by KB2909921)- Removed: KB2719985 (MS12-043: Microsoft XML Core Services, MSXML 3 & 6, replaced by KB2916036 and KB2757638- Removed: KB890830 (Malicious Software Removal Tool 5.8.9803.0)- Removed: Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.38

    Download: http://hfslip.altervista.org/hfslip/hfslipfc-130206-xp140225.zip

    1. KB2655992 is replaced by KB2832214 - TLS, schannel.dll, thanks to dziubek:

    http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/126410-windows-updates/page-30#entry1065798

...but I can't find any info about KB2832214 on Microsoft site :|

    2. Don't mark KB961118 (Printer Update) as obsolete since it's already fixed in HFSLIP beta versions:

    "Jun 11, 2013 - Remove redundant START /WAIT commands. [...] Fix integrating KB942288, KB961118 catalog files."

  9. Hi Jakson, unfortunately I can't help you with your problem. You might want to test installing these updates on a live system and try if you can reproduce the issue.

KB2878379-v2 (or KB969557) installed on working XP doesn't make any error.

XP slipstreemed with KB2878379-v2 (or KB969557) and addons (vcredist + dotnet 1.1+3.5+4)

stuck on "less than 30 minutes" (can't reach login screen with 0x80004005 error).

I'll try KB2878379-v2 with latest HFSLIP v6 version.

    PS

    Why didn't you change line:

    ECHO %%I|FIND /I "Vista">NUL 2>&1&&(SET HostOS=Vista&GOTO :HOSD)

    to:

    ECHO %%I|FINDSTR /I "Vista 7 8 8.1">NUL 2>&1&&(SET HostOS=Vista&GOTO :HOSD)

according to tomasz86 post from june, 2013?

(I have tested it on Windows 7/8/8.1 and it does work)

    PS2

KB2878379-v2 was always in my HF folder.

Maybe I should put it into SVCPACK (or somewhere else)?

  10. Found by komm

    KB2832214 schannel.dll v5.1.2600.6370

    KB2878379-v2 dpcdll.dll, licdll.dll, winlogon.exe v5.1.2600.6443

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2655992 & http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969557 & http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2878379

I can't login to XP system with integrated KB2878379-v2 (or KB969557* or both of them)

    and have got this error:

"A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. ERROR 0x80004005"

    *found on ryanvm.net that KB2878379-v2 replaced KB969557

I was trying HFSLIP 1.7.10 beta K v5 (latest) and v4 with no success,

but HFSLIP 1.7.10 beta K v5 changelog says that it should work:

"Feb 23, 2014 - Block integration of WUDF 1.7 (WMP11) if found in source. Add support for integrating KB2878379. Beta K v5"

    PS

    KB2878379-v2

FIX: A "c000021a" error occurs when you restart a Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 device

    Applies to

Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 - that's the cause?

...and it's weird that hotfix above replaced:

    KB969557

When you use the Windows Key+L keyboard sequence to lock a Windows XP-based computer shortly after you log on to the system, the operating system may be automatically unlocked and the desktop can be accessed

    Applies to

    Microsoft Windows XP Professional

    Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

  11. I'm just preparing an update of the file-checker. Unfortunately (I just noticed it) is my web-hoster very sloooow.... :(

I would be very grateful if you (or somebody else) could upload latest file-checkers

    (WindowsXP-update-list v.2014/01/18 + Office2003-update-list v.2013/11/21)

in first post of this topic.

Your site (mimo.zxq.net) most of the time is down

and even when it seems up (today) I still cannot download file checkers :/.

  12. A friend of mine recently acquired an Acer Aspire 5253 laptop, and requested that I install XP on it instead of Windows 7. I have managed to find XP drivers for most of the devices in this laptop, but one thing I have been having trouble finding are the AMD SB700 AHCI drivers, or really any of the other chipset drivers. Does anyone here know where I could find them? Thanks. :)

Did you search for amd ahci drivers on amd site?

    http://www2.ati.com/drivers/13-4_xp32-64_sb.exe

    http://www2.ati.com/drivers/13-4_xp32-64_raid.exe

    PS

You can extract those *.exe files using 7zip and than install driver manully.

  13. I never use the optimize system files option in RVM Integrator. So I would definitely try without that option.

Ok, trying with te same updates and addons,

the same order (HFSLIP -> RVMi), but with unchecked "optimize system files".

MU/WU updated my XP without problems :).

Anyway I'll check image integrated in reverse order (first RVMi, then HFSLIP),

but it looks like checked "optimize system files" is the issue.

  14. I think the best method is HFSLIP -(next)-> RVM Integrator [...]

A successful Windows setup doesn't mean that everything works as expected. You need to test if installing a printer works that depends on these files and that you can print a document for example.

    You're right - sth is wrong :( :

Can't install KB905474 and KB976002 through Microsoft Update / Windows Update.

On "clean" HFSLIP installation (without RVMi AddOns) MU/WU has no problems with installing updates.

Maybe it's becase I checked "optimize system files" in RVMi?...

I'll check today same image but integrated in reverse order (first RVMi, then HFSLIP)

with "optimize system files" checked and unchecked.

  15. I've noticed one cosmetic issue:

    BTW:

What do you think about inserting line (Windows 7 detecting):

    ECHO %%I|FIND "7">NUL 2>&1&&(SET HostOS=7)

    after:

    ECHO %%I|FIND /I "Vista">NUL 2>&1&&(SET HostOS=Vista&GOTO :HOSD)

Next line is ":HOSD" so there is no need to put "&GOTO :HOSD" after "SET HostOS=7".

  16. My suggestion is to put your project under version control and compare the changes between methods!

    I've built 3 *.iso images:

    1. Updates integrated by HFSLIP -(next)-> AddOns integrated by RVM Integrator 1.6

    2. Updates integrated by HFSLIP -(next)-> AddOns integrated by nLite 1.4.9.1 (with "classic setup" enabled)

    3. Updates and AddOns integrated by HFSLIP K v3

Then installed XP (on VMware) from each image and everytihng went well - no errors, no missing files, etc.

There were some files in HFSLIP *.iso that were not in RVM or nLite *.iso:

    \i386 folder:

    filterpipelineprintproc.dl_ 41142

    msxpsdrv.in_ 823

    msxpsinc.gp_ 175

    msxpsinc.pp_ 173

    mxdwdrv.dl_ 246

    mxdwdui.dl_ 72

    mxdwdui.gp_ 3276

    mxdwdui.in_ 142

    pcl4res.dl_ 35582

    pcl5eres.dl_ 140427

    pcl5ures.dl_ 141565

    ps5ui.dl_ 248614

    pscript5.dl_ 233039

    unidrv.dl_ 186779

    unidrvui.dl_ 273977

    unires.dl_ 234221

    xps.cm_ 424

    logowin.gif 4821

    SP1.CAT 411932

    SP2.CAT 1014483

(last three not related to Printer UpdatePack)

RVM and nLite packed many files which were unpacked in HFSLIP:

    *.inf -> *.in_

    *.dll -> *.dl_

    *.cat -> *.ca_

    That's all.

I think the best method is HFSLIP -(next)-> RVM Integrator -

    - it's a little bit longer then RVM Integrator -(next)-> HFSLIP (looking ahead in the long term),

but I dont have to worry about overwriting some files with older ones.

  17. HFSLIP support for addons is extremely limited. Only true addons are supported. However, integrating large and complicated update packs (like Onepiece Win2k postSP4 UpdatePack and others) results in a corrupted Windows installation even though the update packs are technically also true addons.

For Windows XP I integrate the following ones

    Kels_Runtimes_addon_v8.5.7z
    OnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v1.1.4322.2502_True_AddOn_ENU_CECE82149DF5A0F4250D766448995ADF.cab
    OnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v3.5.30729.4051_True_AddOn_ENU_71968F1BC3AC2E433F3E9AA143B3E728.cab
    OnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v4.0.30319.1008_True_AddOn_ENU_B59D6FA8C909DAD14965B880F957FB29.cab
    Ricks-YumeYao_MicrosoftVC7891012RuntimeLibraries_Addon_2_2_1.7z
    YumeYao_MicrosoftOldRuntimeLibraries_Addon_1_0_0.7z

I want to integrate AddOns you listed plus Ricks-YumeYao_Printer_UpdatePack_And_XPS_Addon_1_2_2.7z.

(YumeYao note: "must integrate this addon "with an updatepack" or "as an updatepack" when using RVMi" -

    - sounds like it's half TrueAddon, half UpdatePack)

I already have up-to-date XP *.iso created by HFSLIP K v2.

What tool use to integrate these AddOns/UpdatePack?

    1. RVM Integrator 1.6 (or RVM Integrator 1.6.1 beta 2.1?)

    2. nLite 1.4.9.1

    3. ...or put all AddOns in HFAAO and run HFSLIP K v2 (on clean/untouched XP SP3 of course)?

  18. 1. There is C:\Windows\HFSLIP folder after installation XP slipstreamed with hfslip-1.7.10_beta_K_v2.

It looks like TEMP folder (13.2 MB) and I think it should be deleted.

    Maybe it's because I don't have following line in \I386\HFSLPGUI.INF file :

    HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce",HFSLIPGUI,0x20000,"CMD /C RD/Q/S %WINDIR%\HFSLIP"

    Why did you remove it?

    2. What was it for and why did you remove it:

    HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\GdiDetectionTool","GDITool",0x10001,1

    (in \I386\HFSLIPWU.INF file)?

  19. new file-checker for XP (Thx to Maxfutur):

    2013-06-22
    - Added: KB2828030 (Fix: USB audio devices stop streaming audio)
    - Added: KB2829069 (Daylight saving time (DST) update for Paraguay)
    - Removed: KB2821346 (Daylight saving time (DST) update for Chile, replaced by KB2829069)

There's sth (slightly) wrong with new file-checker.

    Log after "first" run:

obsolete: HF\WindowsXP-KB2821346-x86-PLK.exe (Daylight saving time (DST) update for Chile, replaced by KB2829069)

not found (F): HF\WindowsXP-KB2829069-x86-PLK.exe (Daylight saving time (DST) update for Paraguay)

not found (H): HF\WindowsXP-KB2794119-x86-PLK.exe (Cumulative Time Zone Update)

not found (F): HF\WindowsXP-KB2828030-x86-PLK.exe (Fix: USB audio devices stop streaming audio)

So I put KB2829069, KB2794119, KB2828030 into HF folder and run file-checker again:

obsolete: HF\WindowsXP-KB2794119-x86-PLK.exe (Cumulative Time Zone Update, replaced by hotfix KB2829069)

KB2794119 first is "not found" and then "obsolete" :).
