Norton Security automatically deletes the file after download - This is what Norton Security states when I download the file.

This file risk is medium.

I'm totally new to this site, so please bear with me.

I just formatted my old PC and reinstalled Windows 98se.

I just found out that Windows Update v4 is no longer supported by MS.

If I download Gape's/PROBLEMCHYLD's Unofficial 98 SE Service Pack 3

will it have all the updates I need or do I need to go to the Microsoft Download Center and download updates.

I already know that DirectX 9.0c and Internet Explorer 6 are not part of Gape's/PROBLEMCHYLD's pack. But besides DirectX 9.0c and IE6, do I need to download anything else from the Microsoft Website??

[Windows 98se can't run Windows Update]

I restored an old PC to Windows 98 Second Edition to play games.

What I did was completely reinstall the operating system (Windows 98 Second Edition).

After the installation I installed Internet Explorer 6

Then when I try to run Windows Update it doesnt work.

Neither does the site h__p://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

(I dont want to post a live link thats why I put the __)

And the site wont even load.

My question is:

Does Microsoft still run the Windows 98 update site?

I did the same thing last year with the same PC, and it did work fine.

I dont know where else to ask. No one knows anything about Windows 98 anymore.

Please help.
