A week ago I installed Windows 7 and a day later downloaded Office 2013, after establishing a Microsoft account. The following day I received a call alleging to be Microsoft engineers stating they noticed significant infections on my desktop PC. They used showmypc to lead me around my computer and show me alleged virus evidence. I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent and pretty familiar with PCs, but the timing was right for the perps and I'm embarrased to say I fell hook, line and almost sinker. When the dust settled and I stopped just short of commiting my credit card for a $180 "license renewal", I disconnected from the call and tried to remove/uninstall showmypc. Unable to do this, I eventuially attempted a clean install with the Windows 7 disk. It allowed me to remove the existing two partitions and install Windows 7 on a new single partition. When the splash screen appeared, there was a small white icon in the lower left that was obviously not Microsoft generated, containing 4 or 5 "fishy" applet links and a very poor computerized voice describing them. I tried installing drivers from my Msi driver disk, which worked perfectly the first time, but this time got a error box stating the files couldn't be found. Rebooted the Win 7 disk and tried the repair option only to receive a message stating the repairs couldn't be accomplished. Used Trend Micro Titanium Anti-Virus and Windows Security Essentials but they found no virus or spyware. Thinking there might be a bug in the boot sector or MBR, launched bootrec.exe and tried to use FixMbr and FixBoot, but neither one was allowed to function.There are sites that chronicle similar incidences dating back a couple years, but nothing that I could find with a solution to my particular problem. Would appreciate any incite and suggestion that anyone might be able to provide. By the way, on a normal install of Windows 7, is there more than one partition created?

BTW, all of these will not Activate without a real key. I assume you're aware of this since you said "test"?

yes the problem is solved the error occured due to the mass storage driverpacks
and yes i am aware that a "legit" key is needed to activate windows, which is why i cant keep using my current laptop for virtualizations of x64 systems
i always use test media before i put it on a live system but in this case i had no choice i needed to use my laptop from fresh install
im ordering a laptop with vt-x & vt-d support, my processor does not support either

i have not integrated all hotfixes and security updates, i decided not to integrate driverpacks at the moment, just awaiting my 32Gb USB Flash Drive USB 3.0
and will be getting a laptop which has VT support as my current processor does not support VT as i want to test builds on VMWARE workstation for x64 bit

"I'm not able to" - but you just DID give some details about (at least) the Laptop!
The Hard Drive in it is a 320gb SATA-II. You are having a SATA problem.

Now, about that "custom pc". why can't you give any info on that one? Unplug it and take the case cover off.
"Custom PC" Well the only reason i cant give the info is becuase im not at the location ( custom PC is not at home ) its a PC buult by my father-in-law

One is SATA (custom PC), the other (laptop) isn't?
Could you supply us some hardware specifics of the laptop -and- the custom one, e.g. Make/Model/Motherboards?

What utility are you using to make your USB install?

but as mentioned the install already works on my laptop i dont get the error message
"windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware"
however when i tried to install it on a computer with SATA i got the error, so i dont see the difference in what program i used.

FYI. RT7Lite did not originate here nor do we have any association with the Author. We therefore can't give you any assistance with a Project not of "our own" that development has -obviously- been discontinued.
If that WIM has that in it and you didn't put it there via RT7Lite, you have a Pirated (warez) version. If not (i.e. yours is legit) then stop using RT7Lite and use this instead.

@WarS - did you not notice there were NO replies to the OP? Does that say anything about support -here- for that Product at all? Few or -no- Members use it because it tended to be loaded with bugs.
yes i was able to remove the relevant files using DISM GUI i mounted the install.wim and removed the relevant files affecting the login process after setup had completed
i can't remember where i downloaded RT7Lite the menu always loaded in the past but i still have no idea why it stopped or if quartz.dll in system32 & syswow64 is a legit file belonging to Microsoft

if you want Office 2013 to run silent you need to do the following
setup.exe /config locationofconfig/config.xml
i run office 2013 in command prompt from sources/$oem%/apps/Office2013
and run it via install.cmd
here is my example

Hi Guys
i am trying to remove RT7LitePIlaunch.exe file as is not loading i found it in install.wim i found the file in the windows folder and can remove it but no idea how its being loaded
the only thing i could find was

basically i am now using USB bootable to install windows 7

i can't figure out why my Autounattend.xml file for Windows 7 Ultimate x64 edition still requests to select an OS to install

There are certain updates that cannot be installed on an offline image and must instead be installed at RunOnce, ie on a live system. I would advise not using RT7Lite anymore, since it hasn't been updated in several years, and instead use a more up to date tool like Win Toolkit, which knows about such things and will put those updates where they will be automatically installed correctly for you.

i am using RTSevenLite to integrate all updates and notice not all updates are installed after checking Windows Update, this is the same case even after a reboot check just to make sure
what i want to do from this point is run updates after windows desktop loads, if anyone can help with that solution i would appreciate it

if your using rt7lite the command for
for IE11 and ,net framework 4.5 ensure you download the offline installers

Hi All
i just downloaded 180 day Eval of Windows 2012 R2 Essentials
i have extracted the ISO to my hard drive and plan to inegrate all updates, can anyone help me with a program that will use DISM to integrate the updates and create a bootable ISO image after, if there is not a tool can you please help me with the cmdline to DISM and update and create a bootable ISO
