I'm running XP Home with Service pack 3. The QT image I attached includes an error message that is very similar to the one I get if I try to install any msi from the iTunes package. *edit: the picture came out small; i used word 07 to save as an htm and I saved the image from there...the error message says: " Quicktime Installer Completed The Installer encountered errors before the requested operations for quicktime could be completed. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again."

Hello, I read this article that guides one to install iTunes without Bonjour and auto update: November 4, 2010 http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/trim-bloat-itunes-installation-windows/ and I tried it step by step, first attempting to install Apple Quicktime msi, but it would not install. I then read another that states in one install Quicktime Alternative and QT Alternative iTunes Compatability Pack in order for the above to work, but I clicked on several download links which are dead. Does anyone know if the steps in the first article still work or if it is mostly out-dated? If QT Alternative and the Compatability Pack are needed- is it worth it to install and where can I get the files?
