My philosophy is don't install something unless you need it as it adds bloat. Your philosophy may be different. My philosophy is the same. I think I kept getting a update request for netframe because of the tools I was using to update XP. Otherwise, I have no apps that use it. I reinstalled XP with SP3, IE8, WMP11, and the relevant updates, and all went smoothly. Thanks again for the help.

Thank you for all the help!!! I successfully integrated/slipstreamed SP3, all relevant hotfixes and updates, IE8 and WMP11 into my XP Pro CD. A few questions: Should I also include the .NET framework 2.0, 3.0, & 3.5? (If yes, how do I accomplish this?) And, Some updates and hotfixes appear in the 'Add or Remove Programs' window as updates even though they were installed at the point of the Windows install, why would this be? The updates appearing in the 'Add or Remove Programs' window are: KB898461 KB2524375 KB941569 KB2508272 KB2443685

I downloaded the most current version of the UDC script off your site. The only file reported as missing when running the UDC script is Windows- KB890830-v3.20.cab. I opened all the hotfix links on Boooggy's webpage for WMP11 but could not find download links for these eight: MS07-068 MS08-076 MS08-054 MS09-051 MS09-037 MS10-033 MS10-062 MS10-082 What am I overlooking to download these files?

Thank you! That worked for SP3, IE8, WMP11 and most of the SP3 updates. (There are still 11 updates to download and install from Microsoft but that's fine by me.)

I've got a running system, but I need to do a re-install of XP, so wanted to update my SP2 version to all the current goodies before the install. I've download VirtualMachine to test the new iso. I got SP3 slipstreamed using nLite. But I'm having problems with all the hotfixes and updates using the Windows Updates Downloader I've read about - it fails to download some of them.
