  1. Except that it works fine on the same machine when I burn it to a CD. No tweaks, no drivers, no changed settings - just SP2.
  2. Correct on all counts astalavista - when burned to a CD, the install proceeds fine. When burned onto a DVD it hangs right at the beginning. And yes, I have used my DVD to upgrade windows home to pro - this does not involve booting off the DVD.
  3. Astalavista - easy, I was just saying that I hadn't changed them so I thought they wouldn't be interesting. Just in case I had a look & I don't have either of these files. I've not used nlite & I've not integrated any drivers - this CD is used to install on a lot of different laptops, whatever drivers I put on you can guarantee the next laptop we buy would require different ones, so I didn't bother. As I say, this is just vanilla XP with SP2 slipstreamed, plus some extra apps on the DVD (but not integrated into the XP install process).
  4. Here you go: winnt.sys: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS UnattendSwitch=Yes [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=xxxxx EncryptedAdminPassword=Yes OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=85 OemSkipWelcome=1 [userData] ProductKey=xxxxx FullName="Rich" OrgName="xxxx" ComputerName=* [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00000809 UserLocale=00000809 InputLocale=0809:00000809 [identification] JoinWorkgroup=xxx [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes I've not edited regtweaks.reg or runonceEX.cmd, so they will be defaults. The image is also correct since I can boot fine when it is on a CD, not a DVD.
  5. I've followed the unattanded setup instructions and slipstreamed SP2 into XP. If I make a boot CD with these files, everything is fine. However I also made a boot DVD, and put some extra applications on it - not in the $OEM folders or anything, just in their own folders, so that I only needed 1 disk for windows & all my apps. The windows files are fine because I have upgraded windows XP home to Pro with the DVD, however if I try & boot off it setup hangs at the 'windows is inspecting your hardware' stage. Anyone any ideas what's up? The only file off the windows CD that has been changed is autorun.inf, since I made my owm menu to install the apps off when you insert the DVD.
