Hi,
thanks for your insightful discussion.
My XP system suddenly takes +10min to hibernate. Wake up and turn off are normal.
I made an etl file, but I always get an error when trying to produce an xml file from it - in XP as well as Win7.
Therefore I uploaded the .etl file and hope you would be so kind and take a look at it.

Thank you Magic Andre so, so much .
You nailed it with the disc cache!
It needs to be activated in Device manager by right licking on the HDD, properties, guidelines and activating the write-cache.
Result: Hibernate delay has been reduced from +10 Minutes to about 10 SECONDS!
I would probably never have found it without your hint.
