thanks! i've just finished creating a script with InstallRite to get it installed, now i just have to go about running it and auto closing.

Does anyone have the switches to make it install, not update, scan, remove anything it finds, then quit for AdAware SE Personal, not Professional. The free one, not the pay one. This can be more then one start /wait call.

Does anyone know of a way to automate the run of stinger? I've got a vbs script that will write a .opt and starts stinger, but i don't know of a way to tell when it's finished scanning. Stinger can be found here: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

no, it wasn't on this site, it was off site somewhere. Just visiting Windows Update with a fresh box, should work, but Windows Updates lists off all updates, even superceeded ones, just like that fourm post does. It is possible to read through that post and remove all the superceeded ones, but i was looking for an easier route out. thanks for the help so far!

Awhile ago, i found a link from this site to another that had a listing of all the hotfixes needed for pre SP2 machines. Does anyone know of this link? I thought I had it bookmarked somewhere, but I guess not. I know about the Windows Update Catalog, but I'm interested in installing only the needed Critical Updates not every possible update.
