Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the metal backplate on the MSI SLI Mobo for AMD? I just recently bought the Zalman heatsink you guys recommended but i need to replace it with the black plate Zalman provided. I just don't wan't to force it out since i spent a nice penny on my mobo. Thanks

i was thinking of building a multimedia and graphics station. i was planning on buying these product. Top of the line MSI SLI mobo, Geforce 6800 GT, 1 Gig CAS2 memory, 300GIG 8mb hard drive, and athlon 3500 64 bit. Would having two GPU's really show a significant boost in rendering compared to one. I use sketchup a lot and need to rendering drawings fast. is this a good setup? If not what do u reccomend i purchase? I have a 1100 budget. No pentium please. Also what's the difference between cores on the 3500+. Which one is better? Thanks for all the help guys.

help me out guys. Is there a script i could run to do this. I have multiple dial up settings. Sinvce i can't do it using GPO then can i use a script to execute once a user logs in?

thanks guys for the help. But i want to see the changes i made to the GPO in text so i wouldn't have to go through each setting and see if i made changes. Point is that i don't want to write down what i changed.

Hi, I wanted to register my own domain name and also host it from my home. I have windows 2003 server. the problem is that i contacted my ISP(Sprint Broadband) and they said i couldn't have my own domain name using their service. I forgot what they told me. But is there an ISP that would allow me to do this or how would i host my own server. The primary reason is that i want to setup my own mail system and learn how this works. I found a good site called FUIDANET but they told me i have to get consent from my ISP. Any help i would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I have windows 2003 server with the media streaming server installed. Currenlty i could stream my music within my network but not through the internet. I don't have a domain but do have a static IP address. What ports do i have to open up on my router so i could access my streaming content over the internet? Also is there a guide or web page that would show me how to use the streaming media server? Thanks

i did uninstall office and the first file i opened under word it worked fine. but then when i closed and opened the document again the same problem happens. i also noticed this problem with excel and powerpoint.

Hi, i have office 2003 and for some reason when i open a new document and try to type i get a mesage in the bottom saying "this modification is not allowed becasue the document is locked" How do i get rid of this? I also opened an existing document and tried modifying it but the same thing happens

Hi, i have a buget around 1,800. What computer parts would you recommend i have in order to build a fast rendering machine. I use Viz and sketch up to do architecture stuff. Currently i have a spare 400 watt chieftech case, 1 Gig cas2 memory, and dvd burner. So you could exclude these things. I would like to stick towards AMD if that's possible. Any help i will grreatly appreciate it thanks

installing windows 98 worked but using FAT32. I'm going to try to install windows 2000 pro from 98 to NTFS and see if it works that way. Do any one of you believe its a mobo issue or harddrive issue? WHat do u think was the problem?

Hi, I 'm trying to install windows XP pro on my computer. But for some reason when i go through the initial setup i get the the BSOD saying UNMOUNTABLE BOOT DEVICE. It doesn't even allow me to go through the recovery console. I tried this with two different HD's (120GB and 20GB) and the same thing happens. So i decided to put the HD's on an external case and they work perfectly. I updated to the latest bios for my Asus A7N8X deluxe mobo to see if that helped but no. I took out everything from my motherboard and only left the HD and CD rom connected. the bios reads the harddrive at it's full capacity. I did a memory test with memtest 86 and no errors. Any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it. I starting to think its my motherboard or cpu.

Hi, I have word 2003 and for some reason when i use the page down button to scroll down some pages, word seems to hang for a bit and then it begins scrolling down. Is there a fix to this? Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to get my XP PRO Bootup DVD with all my applications to run from a usb 1 gig drive. My motherboard supports USB boot up options(MSI NEO PLATINUM). I tried this guide http://www.weethet.nl/english/hardware_bootfromusbstick.php and after completion i just dumped all the files on my DVD and booted the computer. It would not read the USB drive. Is there something i'm missing or did wrong. Thanks

I got the video drivers and chipset drivers to work.(NFORCE) But my itunes 4.7 setup did'nt work.
