    That command is shutdown.exe /g. It's a  seriously cool but not under-utilized feature in Windows! default_w00t.gif

     

    In Windows Vista and later, using the command line tool shutdown.exe with the /G switch will automatically restore many (note but not all) apps which you have running before the reboot! No need to close them manually and restore them one by one.

     

    What apps are restored depends on which apps register with Windows' RegisterApplicationRestart function for reboot.

     

    Using a tool like Application Recovery and Restart Explorer, you can easily see which apps will automatically restart!

     

    Windows Update already uses this feature but the Start Menu's Restart command does not. But you can use Shutdown /G.

     

    Here's a list of applications with register for Application Recovery and Restart (which means they will be automatically restarted):

    Auto-Install Common Devices Windows XP SP3

    By default Windows XP SP3 to connect a USB flash drive or keyboard automatically installs and reports with a message balloon

    The problem is that Windows XP SP3 to modify instead of these informational messages appear, "although the device is extremely simple to install" requires me to install it manually

    This is most probably a problem with the Windows Installer. I have spent a considerable amount of time on this issue. If you log your installation, at the point of the error, the log file shows that it cannot gain access to a certain registry entry and it returns an error. This error in turn returns the 1919 or 1918 error.

    Article Q299611 on microsoft.com suggests that it's due to some corrupted ODBC DLL files. It suggests installing MDAC and then retrying the setup with some system configs. See the article for more details.

    Article Q299066 on microsoft.com shows this error on XP machines but it's due to an incompatibility with Office. It's worth taking a look at though since you have this problem on XP.

    Articles Q292448, Q295000 show a few more causes of this problem.

    I suggest you install MDAC26 and Jet4.0 on this machine and then run your setup. This will install the latest ODBC and Jet rivers and just MIGHT get your setup running. Let me know if you have any further progress. Thanks.

    Office 2000 patches after SP3

    "FileFormatConverters.exe" file published 1/6/2010 (38,808,920 bytes), it has SP2 for Office 2007 System included.

    FileFormatConverters.exe is O12Conv.msi and O12Conv.cab component. Not posible integrated.
