  1. i was not able to install winxp trough deleting all partitions and setting the following bios options: SATA AHCI Mode: Disabled SATA Port0-1 Native Mode: Disabled Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode: IDE the same settings were helping winxp detect the drive while win7 was installe on the first/second partition but xp was unable to work with that situation. im still interested in using winxp with sata mode, will report back.
  2. i tried the above and also: SATA AHCI Mode: AHCI SATA Port0-1 Native Mode: Enabled Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode: AHCI in both cases winxp wasnt able to find a drive
  3. OK, After Reading Fernandos Post im really confused. 1. The right driver (again) - the one downloaded from gigabyte for by GA-P35-DS3 is probably the right one, but which file. heres the file listing again ive already removed all files that were below W7/ ./data1.cab ./setup.ibt ./setup.skin ./Floppy64 ./Floppy64/jraid.cat ./Floppy64/Jraid.sys ./Floppy64/xraid_f.inf ./Floppy64/txtsetup.oem ./data1.hdr ./setup.ini ./Driver ./Driver/x32 ./Driver/x32/xraid_i.inf ./Driver/x32/jraid.cat ./Driver/x32/Jraid.sys ./Driver/amd64 ./Driver/amd64/xraid_i.inf ./Driver/amd64/jraid.cat ./Driver/amd64/jraid.sys ./setup.isn ./Readme.txt ./Floppy32 ./Floppy32/jraid.cat ./Floppy32/Jraid.sys ./Floppy32/xraid_f.inf ./Floppy32/txtsetup.oem ./engine32.cab ./Application ./Application/x64 ./Application/x64/DIFxAPI.dll ./Application/x64/xLhD64.dll ./Application/xInsDrv.dll ./Application/DIFxAPI.dll ./Application/xRaidAPI.dll ./Application/jmide ./Application/jmide/jmide.inf ./Application/jmide/jmide.cat ./Application/xInsIDE.exe ./Application/IDEDrvSetup.exe ./Application/xLink.exe ./Application/xRaidSetup.exe ./Application/xInsD64.dll ./Application/xIDE64Setup.exe ./Application/xLhDrv.dll ./Application/xIDESetup.exe ./Application/res ./Application/res/RaidWndTitle.bmp ./Application/res/controllerLogo.bmp ./Application/res/RaidGUI.bmp ./Application/res/AboutTitle.bmp ./Application/res/aboutLogo.bmp ./Application/res/RaidLogo.ico ./Application/res/RaidCompanyLogo.bmp ./Application/res/Thumbs.db ./Application/res/processing.avi ./Application/res/wizardLogo.bmp ./Setup.inx ./setup.exe ./layout.bin ./data2.cab ./setup.iss this time i added the same driver like the last time, but nlite was run with integrate drivers+make iso in one session..whatever difference there might be. bios settings will be: native mode enabled, AHCI disabled. LAST SESSION.INI
  4. the iso im using already has sp3 integrated as i downloaded it via msdn aa.
  5. Ok, what i want: a multiboot solution with win7 and xp. AHCI was on SATA was in native mode shouldnt this driver work with both choices, or do i need yet another file? 1. SATA with AHCI 2. SATA without AHCI session.ini is attached session.ini.txt
  6. this system is seriously f***ing with me. why does a normal xp installation not work, even with ide mode? this is my current partition table: 1: win7 rescue partition 2: win7 3: planned for winxp is xp not even able to be installed in something else than the first partition?
  7. EDIT: i just realised that SATA Port 0/1 that can be set to IDE are located behind the graphics card...i did not see the connectors because the card uses 2 slots. will try to install with IDE settings now. First try with the "new" driver failed, i have enabled AHCI and native SATA support in the bios this time also something called controller is set to sata instead of ide this time. ...maybe it makes a difference. i also tried to install xp with just setting the controller to ide mode, but it had no effect. Cant attach Session.ini at the moment because the xp is installed to the machine that was running nlite.
  8. Hi, im installing a xp x86 sp3 at the moment, my motherboard is the GA-P35 DS3 in Rev 2.0. my motherbord manufacture offers 2 sata drivers, one for installing later and one to be copied to a floppy and used at install time. ive choosen the complete driver with extras. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2627#dl motherboard_driver_sata_gb_sata2raid.exe this exe contains the following files: ./data1.cab ./setup.ibt ./setup.skin ./Floppy64 ./Floppy64/jraid.cat ./Floppy64/Jraid.sys ./Floppy64/xraid_f.inf ./Floppy64/txtsetup.oem ./data1.hdr ./setup.ini ./Driver ./Driver/x32 ./Driver/x32/xraid_i.inf ./Driver/x32/jraid.cat ./Driver/x32/Jraid.sys ./Driver/amd64 ./Driver/amd64/xraid_i.inf ./Driver/amd64/jraid.cat ./Driver/amd64/jraid.sys ./W7 ./W7/data1.cab ./W7/setup.ibt ./W7/setup.skin ./W7/silentsetup.bat ./W7/Floppy64 ./W7/Floppy64/jraid.cat ./W7/Floppy64/Jraid.sys ./W7/Floppy64/xraid_f.inf ./W7/Floppy64/txtsetup.oem ./W7/data1.hdr ./W7/setup.ini ./W7/Driver ./W7/Driver/x32 ./W7/Driver/x32/xraid_i.inf ./W7/Driver/x32/jraid.cat ./W7/Driver/x32/Jraid.sys ./W7/Driver/amd64 ./W7/Driver/amd64/xraid_i.inf ./W7/Driver/amd64/jraid.cat ./W7/Driver/amd64/jraid.sys ./W7/Application.rar ./W7/setup.isn ./W7/Readme.txt ./W7/Floppy32 ./W7/Floppy32/jraid.cat ./W7/Floppy32/Jraid.sys ./W7/Floppy32/xraid_f.inf ./W7/Floppy32/txtsetup.oem ./W7/engine32.cab ./W7/Application ./W7/Application/x64 ./W7/Application/x64/DIFxAPI.dll ./W7/Application/x64/xLhD64.dll ./W7/Application/xInsDrv.dll ./W7/Application/DIFxAPI.dll ./W7/Application/xRaidAPI.dll ./W7/Application/XSrvSetup.exe ./W7/Application/jmide ./W7/Application/jmide/jmide.inf ./W7/Application/jmide/jmide.cat ./W7/Application/xInsIDE.exe ./W7/Application/IDEDrvSetup.exe ./W7/Application/xLink.exe ./W7/Application/xRaidSetup.exe ./W7/Application/xInsD64.dll ./W7/Application/xIDE64Setup.exe ./W7/Application/xLhDrv.dll ./W7/Application/xIDESetup.exe ./W7/Application/res ./W7/Application/res/RaidWndTitle.bmp ./W7/Application/res/controllerLogo.bmp ./W7/Application/res/RaidGUI.bmp ./W7/Application/res/AboutTitle.bmp ./W7/Application/res/aboutLogo.bmp ./W7/Application/res/RaidLogo.ico ./W7/Application/res/RaidCompanyLogo.bmp ./W7/Application/res/Thumbs.db ./W7/Application/res/processing.avi ./W7/Application/res/wizardLogo.bmp ./W7/Setup.inx ./W7/setup.exe ./W7/layout.bin ./W7/setup_notReboot.iss ./W7/data2.cab ./W7/setup.iss ./setup.isn ./Readme.txt ./Floppy32 ./Floppy32/jraid.cat ./Floppy32/Jraid.sys ./Floppy32/xraid_f.inf ./Floppy32/txtsetup.oem ./engine32.cab ./Application ./Application/x64 ./Application/x64/DIFxAPI.dll ./Application/x64/xLhD64.dll ./Application/xInsDrv.dll ./Application/DIFxAPI.dll ./Application/xRaidAPI.dll ./Application/jmide ./Application/jmide/jmide.inf ./Application/jmide/jmide.cat ./Application/xInsIDE.exe ./Application/IDEDrvSetup.exe ./Application/xLink.exe ./Application/xRaidSetup.exe ./Application/xInsD64.dll ./Application/xIDE64Setup.exe ./Application/xLhDrv.dll ./Application/xIDESetup.exe ./Application/res ./Application/res/RaidWndTitle.bmp ./Application/res/controllerLogo.bmp ./Application/res/RaidGUI.bmp ./Application/res/AboutTitle.bmp ./Application/res/aboutLogo.bmp ./Application/res/RaidLogo.ico ./Application/res/RaidCompanyLogo.bmp ./Application/res/Thumbs.db ./Application/res/processing.avi ./Application/res/wizardLogo.bmp ./Setup.inx ./setup.exe ./layout.bin ./data2.cab ./setup.iss i did point nlite to the file in the insert driver menu: ./Driver/x32/xraid_i.inf after that i created a iso also via nlite from the directory where the cd was extracted with the added driver. but after booting from the cd in question xp cant use my drive properly. as usual i could create a partition, but after the first reboot i get something with read error. the error i did get before the driver was inserted...so what did i do wrong?
