I have a new Dell 8250 (P4 2.4GHz, 512Mb 1066MHz RDRAM, WinXP Home, etc). It has Dell supplied DVD+RW drive (OEM NEC ND-1100A). It won't recognize any media at all. I have tried using System Restore, because it was working several days ago. It has always had intermittent problems with burning some DVD+RW media. System restore did not help. Does anyone know how to do the following: 1) identify the firmware rev on the DVD+RW drive. 2) identify the ATAPI driver rev. 3) how to update the firmware on the DVD+RW drive. 4) how to update the ATAPI drivers on the DVD+RW drive. Has anyone seen this problem with this drive, and what have you done to solve it? Thanks alot for your time.
