  1. Do you have a home network...

No, and i don't need that.

I always use nod, but approximately 2 years ago, I used Avast, not long, about 1 month

and than i back to NOD, because I saw that Avast "says" that, there will be upgrades to May 1, 2012.

That is why I was back to nod32.

Now I plan to try ClamWin + Clam Sentinel.

  2. If you want to continue using Anti-Virus software under Windows 98/Me, using ClamWin Anti-Virus (which is built using Visual Studio 2005) is the only viable option.

Of course, it's time to look for another AV solution.

The Online Scanner stopped working on FE a year or two ago, but it does seem to run networked when I run in through my Vista (IE8) system. It still worked directly on the SE machine last time I tried it some months back.

    --JorgeA

Well, I actively use the FE and only sometimes SE.

  3. It's unclear whether Audacity 2.0 still works in Win98/ME. They give conflicting information on their website. As I reported earlier, 1.3.14 beta resumed Win98/ME support. Anyone know if this is still the case? I probably will test it out soon and I'll report back on the results.

Always appreciate your heads-ups on software updates, halohalo.

I think it is clear, Audacity 2.0 works in Win98/ME, but you need this ANSI version:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/files/audacity/2.0.0/audacity-win-2.0-ansi.exe

  4. Too bad :( , it means that death is coming for win98

    ^felicitas:

It would be so much easier if there was a simple document somewhere in KernelEx' sourcecode archive explaining the general concepts and ideas, together with some details about the concrete implementation, as you suggested.

    I Agree...

    @Xeno86

I think that a one man can not continue the development of this project because you're developing it for years,

and as developer you know how it can be hard to understand someone's code, i think it is necessary to include

    more people.

    ^Xeno86

If there will be someone interested in development, then I will write tutorials on how to set up development environment,

how get started and how to write new / expand existing API calls, and also describe the architecture and inner workings of KernelEx.

    So, do it.

I like the 9x platform, and I have VisualStudio 6 and I know C/C++ and Win32 API, so maybe I can implement a few things.

But here's what i can not do, i can not debugging and i can not make the installation packages because it is too boring for me :boring::zzz:

  5. No. AFAICS, you've got it all wrong, sorry! Apicdump.exe and Apicmsr.exe are diagnostic apps, intended to produce a text result each, to be posted here (zip and attach, please) or sent to RLoew by e-mail. You need to run each but once. They're intended to help him figure what's happening, so that he can hopefully fix it. They're *not* a magical solution to your issue, intended to be used on a permanent basis.

Hi dencorso :hello: , I already know this but I was a little confused because he (Mr. RLoew) mentioned that the application should run from DOS, also my English is not perfect so I can not always clearly say what i want but now it does not matter.

^RLoew sorry you waited this long but I had to first change the video card because modded nvdia drivers causes

Windows Protection Fault when I go to MS Dos Mode.

  6. :hello:

I can tell you something about DX9

1 or 2 years ago i install Call of duty 4 on XP

(but thes days i have only DX9 feb 2006)

and when i try to play game shows me some message

the file d3dx9_3x.dll(x i don't remember what number was) so

i just copy d3dx9_31.dll and rename to d3dx9_32.dll,d3dx9_33.dll

and d3dx9_34.dll and is work believe you or not

    i can't see any diffetrence between d3dx9_31.dll and d3dx9_33.dll

    only diffetrence is:

d3dx9_33.dll try to use EncodePointer and DecodePointer from XP kernel

    you can test this

but don't be critic before test.

sorry if my english bad :blushing:
