hi, i'm new here and i would like to learn as much as i can about those switches and whatever if it's possible but i really don't know from where to start. i've downloaded unattedxp.exe it's a nice software i guess speacially for a bebinner like me, i've slipstreamed sp2, creating $OEM$ but when i reach to the application here is the... i've arranged all the software i want to install accordingly as discribed in the appswitch.dat but the thing is how to know whether the application or the software i wanna install has to bew treated i mean extracted or whatever... for the instance i don't have anyproblem with the small software like google toolbar : but like flashget for example i can't understand how to integrate the serial number ... so how can i know whether the software i'm aiming to install has to be treated before or not! thx in advance

RunonceEX.cmd & start.cmd I’m newbie here and I need any assistance 1- what is the difference between runonceEX.cmd and start.cmd? both of them are batch file, but it’s clear when u go to the application area u can find that all the batches have to go to start.cmd 2- can we put more than one batch file’s path under Guirinonce inside winnt.sif as I understood we may need more than one batch file *.cmd like one for installing applications and one for example if we have to integrate some particular hotfixes can we combine everything in one batch file thanks in advance

i have basic idea about dos command but i was reading the help i followed it step by steo untill i reached the application instalation all what i see " add this ..... to you batch file " but how do we start making that and where to put it maybe i missed an important page when i started if somebody can give me a usefull link i would appreciate it so much thanks

people here always keep on talking about batch file but i have never been able to find where to start making it, i've recently started making my unattended i did winnt.sif and svcpack.inf when i reach the application switshes which is used for aplication installation i can't advance! any link please don't give me the step 3 i've read all of the help i need to know how to start start.cmd and other batch file! thank you in advance

KB831240, direct X, .net framework After Slipstreaming sp1 with the xp professional I tried the iso with VMware to see what updates I need, one of the updates is KB831240, Can anybody tell me which type is it this one 1 or 2? On my virtual pc (Win XP SP1) there is no .net framework and windows update itself couldn’t detect it also direct X as I see the windows update page has been changed it seems that less update now we have to download! Am I right is there any thing wrong, what is the best way to know the file I have to update to my new unattended cd. Is the setup file dxsetup.exe of the direct X 9c the only file I’ll need, if I put it in XPCD/I386/Update what switches and name should I add in the svcpack.inf please more explanation! The same question for .net framework

I sart reading on this page before i jumoed to the forum when i read Windows XP CD with Service Pack 2 Slipstreamed!! http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/gettingstarted.htm what does this mean! is it a normal windows XP slipstreamed with sp1 and after integrated with the latest microsoft hotfixes for sp2 and not SP2 itself thank you everybody for your help

As i'm new here what do u advice me to go back to SP1 and start again slipstreaming, coz it's obvious there are few topics discussing SP2 windows is it the same procedure i should follow to add user and registery tweaks and drivers... either with sp1 or sp2 or theses explanations are only for sp1 thx in advance

Hello Experts here! i've managed to slipstream my XP professional with the latest SP2 by microsoft and now i have an iso file created my nlite and after by using MVware i installed my new windows in a virtual machine! what i want to know before going further to the unattended xp is how can i know which hotfixes or updates i should install coz as it seems there are no updates available after slipstreaming with the latest sp2 am i right? if yes why people here are still struggling with sp1 and how to install updates and hotfixes! thx in advance

U said .( Just let the ISO be the CD-ROM drive of VMware... ) how can i do the ISO act like a cd rom now after i got my serial for VMware thing are getting more and more clear i can see it. as i grasb form you i can use the iso without burning it! am i right? if it;s possible any hints about it
