Sir, I am at present using windows xp professional with sp3. Originally my system(compaq presario sr1630il) was only with Free dos. I have purchased windows xp professional with sp2 cd and installed in my system. I updated including to sp3 thro windows update. I have slipstreamed with sp3 and made a new cd. I have come across your website unattended install of windows xp. As per the beginners guide , first I downloaded and installed "Windows Updates Downloader(WUD)",then i downloaded the hotfixes ,it is stored in the C;|programfiles\wud as critical hotfixes. I used nlite and used my xp3 slipstremed cd and installed the hotfixes and finalized the nlite process. Then I used dirvermax software and backedup my drivers. I used nlite again with the last session and added the drivers to nlite from the driverbackup location where drivermax saved the driverbackup and again finalized the nite. I started again nlite with the last session ,I have not removed any components I made ISO file using nilite's default configuration for making ISO. I used Virtual pc 2007 with sp1 and used my ISO file for booting and installing winxp in virtual pc. It went up to copying drivers and files ,then it went into rebooting loop. So I used my first made winxp with sp3 slipstreamed cd in virtual pc , it went on well and asked for my activation ,then closed the window and came out. I browsed websites about activation in virualisation ,it says it will be problem to activate even in virtual pc, it will treat as duplication and my winxp installed and activated in my system which I am using now will also have problem with windows updates and genuine advantage validation. Secondly if I want to reinstall the winxp with sp3 slipstreamed in real envirionment, which of the activation method I should use as suggested in your unattened intall guide, intermediate user- activation. 1)winnt.sif method, 2) bacupactivation method, 3) oembios method. Eventhough my sytem didnot come in with winxp( I purchased winxp cd and installed) All the files mentioned in Oembios method are present in my system directory(windows folder). kindly advice which activation menthos is most suitable for me to reinstall. I have purchased and installed winxp with sp2 in june 2006. I have reinstalled three to four times in the past in my system due to system crash and harware problem. In all time activation thro internet or thro, phone was done with out problem. my sytem properties says my computer as home pc 76487-OEM-0064846-80696. It seems like winxp oem. Thanking you kasimalli
