Solved it! The file, DiracSplitter.ax, is definitely causing the runtime error. It's in RS's Addon because it's a filter for Media Player Classic. To get rid of the error, just delete the file or unregister it with the command I tried Googling the filter, but didn't get any great results. Looks like it's used for playing certain files, although I doubt many people would actually need it.

After several rebuilt ISOs and several hours of testing, I finally narrowed down the culprit: RogueSpear's Direct Update Addon Lite I have an ISO now that contains all the Post-SP3 updates, IE8, RogueSpear's Runtimes, and all my other addons EXCEPT the addon mentioned above, and WPI finally works fine! I'm absolutely puzzled by why this addon is causing the problem. According to RogueSpear's post, it contains the following: I think I'll try splicing up the addon to see what's causing WPI to freak out. I suppose I'll report back if I find anything...

Hello, I'm a fan and user of WPI since May 2008, but I have come across a problem. I've searched through these forums, the RyanVM forums, and the WinCert forums, so I apologize in advance if this has been answered before... Whenever I launch WPI.exe, I get the following error and subsequent messages: (Don't mind the Windows path name, I like having it spelled that way.) Clicking "OK" gives me this window. Clicking the "click here", gives me this window with the culprits possibly being mshta.exe and diracsplitter.ax. This only happens on a fresh install of XP Pro SP3 integrated with user_hidden's Post-SP3 update pack and Onepiece's IE8 addon (among other trivial addons). These screenshots were taken from a VM. This problem does not occur on my production machine or on another VM, both of which have had SP3 and IE8 manually installed. It also doesn't matter whether I use my WPI folder with configurations already set or if I use a fresh WPI folder downloaded straight from the site. I have a suspicion that it may be the IE8 addon that I'm using. I will try integrating a different one or exclude it entirely once I hammer out my WPI configuration. For the time being, I would greatly appreciate any and all help. If more info is needed, I will provide it. Thank you.
