Catsado you were exactly right here is what worked for me. Used Windows update downloader to find and download updates for XPSP3. I removed anything pertaining to media player and IE 8 from the folder. Used Nlite to integrate SP3 and the 48 updates into a clean copy of XP Pro RTM. Made the ISO and it installed without problems. I used Belarc Advisor to check the update status and it found 5 more security updates. As a test I repeated the above process and added the 5 updates and the install again went perfectly. I did try the RyanVM pack I used a current one dated 12/9/09 which had the basic security updates and some extras. I used Nlite to integrate SP3 and the RVM Integrator for the pack but there were multiple file copy errors during the install set up. I repeated the process with the same result. Also the ISO image was over 870MB in size. Obviously there is a learning curve with that method. The bottom line is I have a working copy with 99% of the updates integrated. Great forum!
